Admin Thread for T-i-G LII: Star Crossed II
I'm probably going to come up with a different name for it once I've ironed out what exactly this game is going to be. Here are the rules and roles for the last game. Some changes may be introduced depending on player count and my own boredom with straight repetition. I believe I'm going to go with something other than an Elven/Animal theme for the Lovers. I may also cut the number of Lover teams down from four to three or two -- depends on participation.
Projected start date is October 27th at 1 AM CST. Deadline will be at 1 AM CST. Current player list: Groin Lommy Aganzir Legate Kitanna Gollum Nogrod Brinniel Sally Shasta Gwath Rikae Mac McCaber Fea Greenie Eönwë Lalaith Eomer

All right, only for the sake of saying it, if the start on 27th holds, I think that's the best thing you may have come up with, I wholeheartedly support that. And I don't even mind the DL, at least not now...

I've been pondering back and forth on whether I should join or not for days now, as I have other things to be focussing on right now, but I don't think I'm going to pass up on this game after all. I won the original Star Crossed, and I just can't miss the chance to defend my title.

I'll play, but the likelihood of me being around for the hours immediately before deadline is pretty low indeed.

17 players, a good number. I have some fun new ideas percolating in my brain, and I think they shall work with the current number, but more will make it even better. But the game will definitely be starting on the 27th (with a Day phase, though I'll send roles out on the 26th and allow players with special roles to plot and plan).

So, did we decide on 1 am CST, or 5 am CST?

It's 9 our time so it should be 7 GMT. At least if Lommy counted right. Poor you.

Poor you guys? Mornings aren't that bad if you get some sleep. 2am deadlines on school nights when I have early morning classes? I should know better than to let Di talk me into such things...

Call it a whisky-induced stupor if you will (and it would be accurate!) but sign me up, Di. You may do as you like with me.
Fea, I haven't even seen you for, like, years. It's going to be emotional.

Zomgsquee! I love you! I've missed you! You're right! It's been like four years and eighty-three days, fourteen hours, six minutes, and thirty-three seconds since last we flirted and reminisced about the old days...

It will be interesting to see how this works for us here. It will really be different; either an early vote or then just fast skimming through the last 6-8 hours of the Day and a quick vote. I know many of you guys have been doing that for a long time but it will be nice to see how we can manage it...

Whenever I've played in a game with an unkind deadline, I just voted early and tried not to worry about. The moderator is really the only person who has to be around at the exact deadline, anyway. If you all just vote early together you'll have to wait for me to show up but then you'd be on equal ground.
On that note, I just got home from work and it's nearly 1:30 AM. So I'm guessing that for the Friday night (or nights?) deadline(s) there will be a slight delay. I am enthused to have Lal and Eomer fall prey... I mean, join up.

Sadistic wench. Erm....I mean what an eager and dedicated mod godess to be excited for new players. *shifty eyes* Just so I've got this straight. The game starts the 27th....at 1am....with a day phase. Correct? (I read somewhere about it starting with a day phase and was just wondering) Alternatively, I had a really weird, really short dream last night where I got the PM from Miss Di that I was an ordo. Apparently I cried. Meh.

Oh and as for the clock... Real time or Downs time?
Gah they should really get it fixed.

Testing...
Edit: Okay, as the 'Downs clock seems to be 22 minutes behind Real Time, I'm going to say the deadline is 1 AM realtime, 12:38 AM Downs time. Is that too confusing? At any rate, I'm working on roles now so you should start watching for PMs. Oh and Lal, don't lie, those are fond memories you have.

So what roles are there now, and how many lover teams? Can the lovers be of the same sex? And what about voting - are the votes retractable, and in case of a tie, who will die?

Okay, roles have been sent out. People with roles know what they are.
As for voting -- no retractions, and in case of a tie the first person to get the majority of votes wins. Game thread will be up eventually. No modfire.

It is currently about four hours before the start of Day 1. I'm going to bed now, as I can't stay up any longer. But you may all start posting as soon as the Downs clock hits 12:38 AM CST. I'll be around more tomorrow, should you have any questions or concerns.

And by "majority," I assume that you simply mean the most votes, rather than the actual majority of possible votes?

But we all don't know what roles there are in the first place, and how many lovers, eh? In your first post you said some changes may be introduced, and I was just wondering if there are any.
