The Eye More in Mordor ?

On reading ROTK again , i realised how little of the book Sam and Frodo's quest into Mordor gets . Would anyone have liked to read more of S & F in Mordor ?
I feel there is enough as i love the books as they are but does anyone disagree and would like to know more of Mordor ?

I definitely don't think the books are lacking in anything due to the smaller amount of time spent on Mordor, but it would be interesting, wouldn't it?

I think it would make a cool RPG....Maybe an "exploring unexplored themes" forum could be set up where those kinds of thoughts are developed?

good idea . I know they did a "fill in a missing part in the TTT" story competition on here but i think i RPG would be a good idea! maybe we could start a post on this in middle earth maddness about filling in the story ?

Yes, there is more stuff in other areas than in Mordor, but you must remember that a lot of the time Frodo and Sam were just walking. Also, the other part has more people and they are all doing different things. Per person, Frodo and Sam probebly get just as much time as the rest of the fellowship.

I like it the way it is, I must admit. I personally think that too much would have become repetative - Frodo would have become more and more weary with the burden of the Ring, and Sam would have become even more annoyed with Gollum.

If there was an RPG, we could also fill in the bit where Aragorn and that lot have just come out of the paths of the dead and get on the boat (don't worry, I am re-reading the book) but anyway, I agree that perhaps Sam and Frodo just walking would be a little repetative. Not being given all the information made me want to keep reading the book.

Mordor is spoken about in other books, is it not? I do agree, however, that I would like to hear more of Sam and Frodo's experiences while traveling through the barren wasteland. Mabye more of their adventure alont with eachother, before they discovered Gollum's presence?

yes , i do like the way that the book is put like this , it makes you think about each part and is in ways a cliffhanger at the end of the crossing over to the next chapter . I agree about the point that it may become a bit annoying them just walking an getting annoyed by Gollum .

More Mordor...hummm......It might go something like this:

More of Frodo only able to walk a few miles each day because of the weight of the ring, also unable to carry on any kind of conversation with Sam.

More of Sam worring about Frodo and trying to find water.

More nibbling on lemba crumbs and wishing for different food.

More discription of rocks and ash.

Throw in some Orc camps and forges and there you go.

Seriously though, I was glad when Frodo and Sam finally reached Mt. Doom. To me, tward the end of RotK, Frodo's journey tended to drag on too much, but I know this was necessary to show how much of a burden the ring really was.

One of my hobbies is computer animation and I would like to make an animation of various lands of Middle Earth and Mordor is near the top of my list. Here is a link to a gallery with a few pics I've been working on.
