What on Arda is he doing here? He should be out guiding the hand of the Free Peoples in the fight against Evil. Not lounging around on a desert island reality show trying to boost his media image. Tsk! And he doesn't pull his weight in the tasks. And he's a goody-two-shoes.

Seems I was mistaken. Evidently, Nogrod wants Gandalf to win.

I know I'm not a regular player, and have little reasoning for this old coot to be kicked off, other than he's a bit of an attention seeker and really could be a bit more help. Leaving the Dwarves when they need him most and sitting back and observing, leaping after a Balrog, that kind of thing. However, my dear friend Skittles asked for this favour, and who am I to say no?

Hama is still around? Hama? Is he basking in some of the glow which belongs to the Huorns? C'mon, it doesn't get any blander than this.

Two bandwaggons are way more fun than one bandwaggon. Plus, we don't need two dragons. Plus, we don't need minor works characters. Plus, hey, we'll get Gandalf before the end anyway... |

Firefoot,
I am convinced that you want Gandalf to win this thing. Am I correct? If so why Gandalf? He's kind of a prat!

If you actually want Gandalf to win, go ahead and vote against the far more interesting dragon(s). By all means. But if you don't actually want old lathspell to win, now's the time to act upon it. It's a hard task to stand up to the big, popular, predictable and oh-so-boring names, but that's what makes it worthwhile!

Yes, I'm just a pawn. It is interesting to see how long Gandalf survives. And I do think that Gandalf is a much better character than most. I'd rather see Gandalf survive than Goldberry for example...

Just because I'm a fan of the minor works and want to see some of those characters surviving... Besides, Gandalf's confusing - are we talking about ...the White or ...the Grey here?

And how would Eustace the Dragon (Narnia) have fared in a face down with C. D.? Obviously Smaug would slap either one around.

Day 18 is now over!
Gandalf - 10 Chrysophylax Dives - 7 Gandalf the Wizard is the character voted off today. Gandalf stood, and with one last uncloaking, to the discust (not the surprise) of all those present, he walked away proudly, with black squares covering certain places, since this is a family friendly site. Thus ends this day! Remaining contestants: From the Lord of the Rings Survivor Gimli Hama From the Silmarillion Survivor Elbereth From the Hobbit Survivor Smaug Gloin Durin From the Second Age Survivor Tar-Miriel Celebrian Thorondor From the Minor Works Survivor Chrysophylax Dives Goldberry *************************************** You may now start voting!

Poor Gandalf, why did you have to be voted off?
Let me see here. We have two humans, one Vala, one Eagle, one Elf, two Dragons, one of whatever Goldberry is, and, oh dear, no less than THREE Dwarves. At least one of those Dwarves has got to go, so... ++Gloin

Gimli has committed and offense so agregious that it really should be punished by death, the least we can do is evict him. What did he do you ask? Why he befriended and Elf and there is no greater crime in all of dwarven society than that.

As it is, it looks like your trying to punish Gimli for trying to redress years of strife between the two races, a noble enough effort. Or in other words: You're promoting racism, morm. O_O Now of course Gimli isn't perfect & there are probably many reasons why he should be voted off but surely not this one! Therefore, since I'm with Menel more or less in his reasoning of evening up the scores: ++ Gloin Being the son of Groin (inventor of the mithril cup) is a tough act to follow, but he's less deserving of a spot on the island than Gimli is. |

He's boring, has no character really (except for starting fires, which, may I add, he and his brother failed miserably at!) and is far worse than Gimli.

TORE I have never been loyal solely to one alliance. I am a rogue survivor who sees benefits and I take them. It so happens that the three of us see eye to eye quite often. However this current voting block is rather large against anything I do so I need those who don't hold prejudice against me.

They are the Saurons and Melkors thriving for glory and power, the ones who are ready to use anyone as their puppets and turn them down as they have been used! Do not be tricked by their sometimes honeyed words! These Sarumans will lure you into anything if you give them your ear! Beware of their rhetorics! United we are strong enough to fend off the onslaught of the evil conspiracies! Let's unravel their fancies and in the end of the game leave it to the honest majority to decide.

Nogrod proposes to defend a so called alliance, but no alliance is formed so far as I know, however he wants it done by forming an alliance . Again I am a rogue and have this freedom you speak of. You are the wormtongue if I have ever seen one. These noble individuals see the justice of their cause much as Gondor and Rohan would yet you give false wisperings and want to form an alliance because and alliance is evil.
Quote:
Seriously though what has Tar-Miriel ever done or accomplished? Gloin at least is a dwarf of honor and high character. Gloin would dare to stand against evil however Tar-Miriel allowed Ar-Pharazon to take up the sceptre and rule in evil. See the difference. Gloin defends against evil and Tar-Miriel embraces evil. She would have us believe that she was forced into this situation, those who are learned in the lore know differently, she was a malignant influence and secretly sought out evil in all its forms.

Eh, Nogrod is just a bit upset that Gandalf is gone and a couple minor works characters are still around.
That said, now that Gandalf is gone (hurrah!) and I need a new person to vote for, I think I'll help out Firefoot's long suffering campaign against + + Goldberry If we're getting on women for being subjugated by their husbands, I think we'd do better to look elsewhere than Tar Miriel. At least she had the decency to be miserable. Goldberry was kidnapped and turned into a domestic slave and enjoyed it. EDIT... Er, Firefoot, this is rather awkward. Well, I still stand on principle and think G is a worse offened than T-M in the wimpy wife department.
