I wish you two the best of luck with this game as I need to take a break. But if you don't have enough people for your game to start up, don't hesitate to ask.

Still looking for players? I'm interested. Since you're not starting until after Kath's game I'll get a break, and I'm interested to see what you've come up with.
I'll be...hm...uh...um...drrr....hmmmm.... An embroiderer? How dull...But that's what I am. Oh and relationship...I'm not related. I'm lost. Got separated from my folks and all that.

I like the idea of the "logical hunter." It will make the wolves think twice about killing in the Night, and it still leaves the Hunter with the opportunity to mess up (should s/he be lynched) and kill an innocent or gifted. So the Hunter is strong yet not fool-proof. Should be fun to try out in this game.

We can't promise you Jenny that we wait until Kath's game is over, but surely it will be on its final stages when we start.
We would have to be done with this game on something like the 20th of June (Lommy: correct me if I remember this incorrectly). That would mean that we should start on the 8th of June the latest, or something. We still have lots of vacancies on the village, but Kath's game has a host of players and some of them start to drop out from it tomorrow on - and some of them have already shown their interest if they are dropped. So we just see when the roster is full and start then. (Full roster = ideally the basic 16 players, or possibly a few more) Valier - Elenwe's personal chamber maid Diamond18 - Dimwë the half-wit second cousin of Elenwë Naria - Macalaure - Turgon's nephew and part-time-repentant kinslayer Lalaith - Aredhel's tutoress Firefoot- Aredhel's friend Jenny - An Embroiderer, lost, not related tom bombarrific ? Nilpaurion Felagund ? And please, make your vote on the following: A summary of questions so far - Cobbler or not? (4 yes - 0 for no) - Retractables (max. 2 votes/ day) or not? (2 yes - 2 no) - 10-11 pm GMT or other? (1 for 10 - 1 for 11 - 0 for other) - Revealing or not revealing roles upon death (0 votes so far) PS. We thought about that revealing the roles stuff yesterday together and thought of a third possibility of not saying it straight but leaving hints to the roles of the dead, but quite soon we saw that it would be really tough job. Something like anagramms made by the "Anagrammatical Parrot" (in the narration) could be fun, but then we should play it in Finninsh and not in English! Somehow I like myself the basic game where the roles are told, but will not be against a different ruling if the players wish so.

OKay, sign me up!
Uh, my role is... um... I'll get back to you on that. ++Cobbler ++Retractable votes if they're limited (only so many retractions a day) ++10-11 pm GMT --Role revelation, but ++Tallies As for the "logical hunter" - the role of the hunter has always been a sort of Russian Roulette. S/he gets to kill whoever they want, other wise it's just an extra seer that happens to be deadly. Being a good hunter requires a certain skill set- confidence, discretion, etc- and if you take away the risk, then you take away the challenge of the role. I don't know about the rest of you, but I would enjoy the challenge more than I would enjoy reduced risk. As for narration difficulties, I've never seen a mod be unable to make it work. That said, the logical hunter might not be so bad, as long as there are no automatic wolf kills, because those really aren't fair. I think they should be able to kill whomever they wish if they're lynched, though.

Well I will go with
++ for all of the above mentioned in Nogrod's post However, since I am very unclear about what Lomgrod is doing with the Hunter I don't really have an opinion about that. Could someone possibly clarify for me....in layman's terms please? The only thing I would have to say about it is, please don't mess with the simplicity of the Hunter too much....that person can and will do what they must in order to perform their task(if that person has their wits about them ). So....yeah, clarity would be nice. Thanks |

Naria, I let Noggie clarify it to you, since that was the clearest way I managed to say it.
And we have to people more "onboard". Welcome, Roa and phantom!

Ok. I try it once more.
The Logical hunter: - Picks someone "to watch", and can change her pick any time of the Day or Night. So basically she might chance her pick every five minutes... (that would be annoying to us though). So unlike the Seer and the Ranger, she is free to change her mind when she wishes. - If she has picked a wolf and the wolves come to kill her during the night, she will kill the wolf she has picked - and dies herself, of course. If she has picked a villager, she is "caught unawares" by the wolves and no one else dies. - Hunter-lynch: if she has picked one of those who have voted for her she will take that one with her when lynched. Here is the clue to our idea. When the Hunter sees / suspects that she will be lynched, she will have to start checking those who have voted for her. So whether to try to play safe and pick someone who has not voted for her (so that no innocents die), or whether to try take someone with her (picking someone who has voted for her) and take the consequences: killing a villager, posssibly a gifted - or become the hero and take a bandwagoning wolf with her. That should provide the Hunter some nerve-wrecking hours before the deadline... Retractables: In Kath's game right now underway we saw again some toying with the retractables (there is unlimited number of them in that game). I personally don't like that - and Lommy neither (at least she says so in the game - that might be bluff, surely... ). But I would suggest one retraction / Day for RL reasons. One doesn't always know, whether one is able to come back before the deadline. So in this situation the possibility of retracting your vote once would help a lot as you could secure that you vote - and would have the possibility of recasting your vote in a situation where you actually manage to come back before the deadline and see that things have changed. But that's up to you. And yes, welcome Roa and phantom! Nice to see you here!

Let's see how the recruiting goes, but so far it's looking very good indeed (and there will be people off from Kath's game everyday...). Can I make a request? When we refer to past games, can we just do it plainly? I'm all for fun with roleplay, but the whole "my lorebooks say..." and "her ancestors have done..." etc. I find all rather tedious. I mean, we all know what we're talking about anyway so I'd rather just be able to say it out than obfuscate it with analogy. So... pretty please?

I completely agree with Diamond on this one!! I found it hard to keep remembering to put in the lorebook, I think we have enough stuff to worry about.

Ty Nogrod, so I think I'll be The Mouth of Fingon (or Fingon's Ambassador) whatever you prefer.
I would like to see the Cobbler back, and I think roles should be revealed upon death. The other two, I'm indifferent on, I'm for either one.

Relationship/role- Elenwe's personal guard
Can I do that? I agree with Diamond and Valier- we usually just end up slipping out of the role play anyways.

Naria, I hope you got the idea of the logical hunter... Boromir, you maybe should think why the ambassador of Fingon was marching with Turgon's host. Or is he Fingon's ambassador to Turgon?

I'm not a big fan of cobblers but I'll go with the majority. Nor am I a fan of retractable voting, but ditto. End of voting time, I'll fit in with whatever suits the mod.
The only thing I do have strong opinions on is that I'd really like to know roles on death.

We would like to start the game on Tuesday or Wednesday (June 6th or 7th), if we just have enough players by then (we are four players short by now - but we might take a couple of more, not too many though). We have now PM'd a couple of people and hope Kath's game will provide us with one or two more before our planned starting date.
The game will begin with the Night-phase, as usual: the werecreatures making their initial plans and the Seer coming up with a dream. Lalaith: if we go with the retraction option, it will be only once/Day. The idea being, that they can be used in need (RL insecurities). But as it is impossible to make any ruling that could be controlled and that would not just hinder the gameplay (everyone explaining their situation at every twist of their RL), everyone is granted to do whatever they see fit to use their one retraction.

Just something I'd like to point out- including Kath, we have 12 players. With 3 wolves, a seer, a hunter, a ranger, and a cobbler, those with special roles willl out number ordinary villagers. May I suggest holding off on the cobbler until we know we will have more players? Perhaps if Tom and Nilp concrete their presence?

Thanks for the invite. I'd love to play, but I will be away for a week, beginning 14 June, so the timing ain't great for me. You have some great players there, so I shall be sorry to miss it. But I'll be sure to keep an eye on it.

As Kitanna is now the pot emptier, I think I must think of another punishment occupation... It will be animals' dung cleaning specialist, unless we manage to come up with something else. One player more, and we can start. Great.

Okay, if we get one player more before 10PM GMT today, we're going to start the game then.
The game will start 10PM GMT. The game will start with a Night phase. The roles will be given out before the game starts. - We're going to have a cobbler. - There will be one retraction per person per day. - The roles will be revealed upon death. All narrations are and will be written in co-operation by me and Nogrod. (So all comments positive and negative, to both of us.)
