Contradicive statement
Hi.
I dont know if the thread-title is fitting, but the idea is to come up with a confusing statement + a question. For exsampel: Statement: My name is Haldir, but Rumil is not my brother! Question: What was my fathers name? Answer: Halmir ------------------------------------------------------------ Statement: My name is Barahir, but niether Beren or Dior was my son! Question: Who was my grand father?

Sounds like this could get interesting...

Yep Faramir is correct, his grandson Barahir was accounted as the one that wrote the latter part of the tale of Aragorn and Arwen.

Excellent question Perky!
Your cousins are: Yávien, Oromendil and Axantur. The latter being the Great Grand father of Hallacar, who married Tar-Ancalime.

Gilraen! (If it's not the father, it has to be the mother...)

How about this one?
Faramir is my grandson, but I am not Ecthelion. Who is my nephew? (Busy as always, Telch - both on- and offline!)

Do you mean Tréowine in the Notion Club Papers (HoME IX)?
There is a Voronwë of Gondolin, but I haven't been able to find a surname for him.

I have found alternate names for Voronwë: Bronweg and Bronwë. That's all so far - no surname(s). If those aren't what you're looking for, could you please give a clue as to where to search?

I do hope it's not a game invention or something like that!! It does need to be canonical Tolkien (i.e. book source) to be valid.

It is a book resource, but since you are so persistant, consider looking in the chapter concering Tuor and Gondolin

My first name is the same as one of Frodo's friends', but I am not a Hobbit.
Whose travelling companion am I?

A wild guess would be that you name was Strider and that you were Frodos travelling companion, but also that you were a pony

The latter part of your guess is coming pretty close to the solution, Telch, but try a different friend's name...
