Sting Anduril mystery solved...

I had always wondered why Aragorn, in TTT movie, so easily gave up Anduril to the Rohirrim outside of Meduseld, whereas in the book, he vemently would not allow anyone to touch The Blade That Was Broken Reforged.
Now, after seeing RotK, to some good effect, the reason he gave up his sword so readily was because it wasn't Anduril.
Small change I guess, and mostly added to aid uncertainty in guessing who is in Theoden's tent (I was so hoping it was a Ranger from the North!) But alas...a nice touch by PJ...anyone else agree?

Sting

In a way yes. I suppose it builds up some tension for the final movie where he gets the sword reforeged.
I could also tell that his sword in FotR and TTT wasnt Anduril because, me bieng the LotR fan that i am, examined Narsil, Elendils sword, in the prologue for LotR and compared it to Aragorns sword. I could tell the differences on the hilt of the sword.
[ 7:50 AM December 27, 2003: Message edited by: Phervasaion ]
