I live close to Algonquin Park, where part of one of the old Star Wars movies was shot. Ewan McGreggor is in the new Star Wars movies, and he was in Black Hawk Down with Orlando Bloom.
Well, that's a pretty lame one.

Oh no, it's not lame at all. Starwars-connections aren't lame. I have a even more far-fetched Starwars-connection on page 1 of this thread...

My cousin's boyfriend's best friend played Figwit.
I just happened to mention him and he suddenly said "Figwit? That's my friend Brett!"

Hm,
The only rellation to the movie that I have is that I have paid a part of it. We all did. We bought the movie and went to see it in theatre. And witht that money they inderectly pay off the movie. See my point? Greetings, Anuion ________ MARIJUANA HEMP Last edited by Helkahothion; 03-07-2011 at 03:04 AM. |

I live in Austin where Harry Knowles met Elijah Wood and encouraged him to read LOTR saying something along the lines of "You're Frodo, dude."

One of my classmates apparently knows Viggo Mortensen. Also, Viggo has a house in Ketchum, a small town near Sun Valley in Idaho- which is where I live.

My connection:
My dads friend Dax was doing something for the movie Pirates of the Carabean with Orlando Bloom. For Christmas he got me an atougraphed picture that says Katie *heart* Orlando Bloom because Dax told him how much we love LOTR. Sorry I had to brag.

Yes, well, Tolkien dedicated a whole edition to me! Sort of.
The old Ballantyne editions are dedicated especially to "Those across the water" and I suppose that's me, and a couple million more. Oh well, I can dream. *sigh*

My uncle was dating Sean Astin's cousin for a while. And this same uncle was down in the Caribbean (on his yacht) while Elijah Wood was down there filming Flipper, and got to meet him. There, those're my odd little connections!!!

Hmmm. I am now pen pals with a girl from Scotland who has skated, talked to, thinks his brother is cute, BILLY BOYD! And when I was getting all excited when she told me this, she thought it wasn't a big deal! Her dad has worked with his step-dad and she goes to the school he used to go to.
Another, my dad was really close friends with Bruce Willis (they went to the same high school) and Bruce was in The Fifth Element with Ian Holm and he plays Bilbo! Alrighty that's all! I think.

Well....I'm writing to Billy Boyd. Sending out the letter tomorrow. Agg, I sound like a total teenybopper in it! And I was really hyper while I was writing it, so it's REALLY weird!

OK Eressië Ailin, connection for you, Kathy Griffin gave her voice to one of the characters in Lion of Oz. So did Lynn Redgrave, who is Vanessa Redgrave's sister. Vanessa was in Wilde and so was Orlando Bloom. There you go, you're as connected as anyone..

OOOOOOHHHHHHHH! I want ot live in NEW ZEALAND!!! OK, I do have a connection, but its not quite as good as being hugged by E.W or anything...My great-aunt(who lives in NZ) was an extra in FoTR, she was a hobbit, I THINK she was the one sitting down in the kinda dusty market type place in Hobbiton when Gandalf drives past...if that made ANY sense at all... Here's a really amazing one ... Like every single person in any way involved with Lord of the Rings, past or present, I dwell on the planet called Earth.
Hmm, that one's kinda flimsy. How about: I've been to a concert by a band that used to frequently be shown on MTV. Pauly Shore used to be on MTV, and he was in "Encino Man" with Sean Astin. No? Um ... my dad met a guy who is a cousin of Quentin Tarantino, who was in "Little Nicky" with Adam Sandler, who was on Saturday Night Live, and so was Mike Meyers, whose second Austin Powers movie included Heather Graham, who was in "From Hell" with ... Ian Holm. And I'm afraid that's the best I can do, folks. [ March 16, 2003: Message edited by: Fergo Baggins ] |

I thought of another one!
My friend, Valerie, knows a girl named Brittany who has an older sister, Lindsey, who is going to go to the same collage as Elijah Wood. Brittany is now requiring Lindsey to, if she meets Elijah, ask him out. Because of this, many of my friends who know Valerie are saying that their friend's friend has a chance of becoming Elijah Wood's sister-in-law.

My second cousin is a famous dress designer ‘Mark Bower’ and he designed many clothes.
He designed a dress for Princess Diana, He designed Witney Houston’s wedding dress and all her clothes for the movie ‘Body Guard’ He designed one of the wedding dresses in ‘The Run Away Bride (so he met Julia Roberts to get the dress fittings). He makes dresses for the queen of Spain or Russia (I cant remember), He lives in New York and a while ago I went to New York to go see him. He was making a dress for Liv Tyler so I shook her hand and she smiled at me. I also had to help her up on a chair so that Mark could get the measurements, so I held her hand. We had a conversation and she said that I was very pretty! She spoke some elvish for me and then later on she left my second cousins studio and just walked of… I wanted to cry I PROMISE THIS IS TRUE!

Although I'm pretty sure it wasn't my actual uncle, a man named Andrew McGeorge is credited durning the end credits of TTT. I'm pretty sure he would have mentioned working on LOTR. He lives in NZ, too, and I've been there. Woopity doo. It's a hell of a place, if you've got $2000 bucks run out and buy a plane ticket. Or get $1000 and buy a one way plane ticket. Heh. That's where I'm living when I'm all growed up, there or Scotland, Ireland, or England. Just as long as it isn't the U.S. or if it is the U.S. it's someplace like Salem, Massachusetts or Astoria, Oregon. GOONIES!
I'm raving, now, I'll stop immediately. |
