Has anyone else seen this??
on Sunday while I was watching the game, this commercial comes up that looks like it's a Lord of the Rings movie preview. I was watching it for a 2 minutes before i found out it was advertising the Grey Cup game. That totally freaked me out and I was wondering if anybody else has seen it or another commercial spoof that is LoTR related?

Can't say I have, and I watch quite a lot of tv. May be I've not been watching at the right time, or maybe it doesn't happen this side of the Atlantic.
EDIT: I have to say the PS2 game advert annoys me quite a lot because I sit there going push down the ladder! (I love that bit) but then it says 'buy the new PS2 game!' and I don't even have one . The advert lasted 2 minutes? Well, back in August a car dealership had a gimmick that if you came and test drove some model (I forget which) they would give you a free LotR DVD.
So the commericial went like this: A family was driving away in their new mini-van, down a narrow tree-lined road, when in the rear-view mirrors what do they see but Nine Black Riders chasing after them just like in the movie. They had the music playing too. But then, as the Riders encircle the car, one reaches out its hand...and knocks on the window. The guy opens the window, and the Black Rider throws back his hood, and its...(tada) Bob, the car dealer. He holds out the DVD and says, "Hey! You forgot this! It's great!" The End.

There's a Two Towers ad which I THOUGHT was an ad for the movie. Instead it's for trivia contest that's going on.... I have to find that website... I know I can win....

Not psychic really, it's just the only LotR type commercial I've seen that wasn't for the movie itself. Once the Monday Night Football intro was LotR themed, though. I can't remember the particulars on that one, but it was about the quest for the One Ring (i.e. the Super Bowl Ring) which is totally the opposite of what LotR is really about.
And my real name isn't unknown, really. I've mentioned before that it's Sarah. Sarah Rose. (I've got a LotR related name in real life! Yay!)

I recently saw the ad for AOL 8.0 Broadband, and there was a part were they said:"Download the latest movie previews", and they showed a clip of TTT.

I'll bet there are lots of people named Sara(h) hiding out here on the Downs. Isn't is great to trade in our rather common name for something more exotic like Arwen Melian and Diamond? (okay, well, Diamond, being a Hobbit name isn't really very exotic, but to me it is.)
I just rememberd that in a couple of their commercials Time Warner Cable is featuring the clip from FotR where Gandalf takes the Ring out of the fireplace and drops it into Frodo's hand. It's for something about pay-per-view movies...the announcer guy says, "What if you never had to rent a movie again?"

Oh...I never saw that one. Well I did see the one advertsing the new ps2 game....it was cool. However, one question; why does it show a TTT scene? Oh...and I agree it is nice to trade in your names( even though our birth names are very pretty.) Well..I read the Silmirrillion and when I see your name I think of Miriel for some reson( Diamond-Miriel...meaning sparkling jewels...but I don't think you meant it this way.)

I haven't seen that PS2 commercial. I've seen lots of ads in magazines, but not on TV as of yet. I recall that on the Regular Edition DVD they had a preview of "The Two Towers Video Game" but the scene they showed was from Moria. I thought that was wierd, anyway.
Diamond Miriel sounds cool...I've wished on several occasions that I choose something else other than 18 to go after Diamond...oh well, c'est la vie. (Diamond is from the Tale of Years in the Appendices, BTW, the name of the hobbit who Pippin married.) Everyone just calls my Diamond anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter what I put after it. Lol.
