These are hysterical. They had me in absolute fits. So, Frodo becomes the ringleader (or is it wing baron) and takes up with Aragorn and his son Boromir, but they are chased by ox!!?? And what is it that Isildur has on these people that they are so keen to absolve him of any blame? Brilliant!

Oh, those have to be made up. Really. Er...or I hope so anyway. How on earth could this movie have become a worldwide success with such terrible translating?
But real or made up, it had me in giggle fits.

Okay, this one made me laugh, especially when you read what the webmaster wrote above it (The Lady Galadriel's eloquent farewell)

my favorite is "Don't touch me, Frodo" and Arwen telling Strider she'd give her advantages to him.

Alas, those are real. I've seen a bootleg copy with captions like that. I didn't look at all the pictures on that page, does it have the one where they call Frodo a "ring leader"?
By the way, I haven't laughed this hard for a long time. [ January 17, 2003: Message edited by: Galadrie1 ]

The link still works just fine for me. But the thing that happened to Susan keeps happening to me too. There's definitely something weird going on.

I have a bootleg copy of TTT. I haven't watched the whole thing with the English captions (I couldn't bear to), but from the parts I've seen, Gollum has a very dirty mouth. Seriously! And he calls the Ring "The baby".
Ow. Now my face hurts. Too much laughter. I think "I have feelings" would be my nomination for one of the best. Well, here's another site with captions from TTT: Engrish TTT captions

LOL!! That has to be the funniest thing I have ever seen (this beats The Lord of the Peeps by a long shot)!!! I was laughing uncontrolably and then I got to the TTT captioning - It is it really possible to die of laughing to much?

I don't know if it is possible to die from laughing too much, but I might be the first person to do so! I thought that the FotR captions were bad, but TTT's ones were even worse!! I have never, ever, laughed so hard in my life! "Gandolf foogray, that was my name." Hahahhahahahahahaha!!!!!

Eomer takes a drubbing in TTT, also. "Too long have I wanted my sister," - eesh, that makes Faramir look good!
BTW, I can testify that English-captioned bootlegs are available in at least some parts of Asia. I haven't got a clue as to why it's done like that, but they are out there, and the captions are usually just as wretched. Judging by some of the ones that turn up - "Do you know how the ox first came to be?" or "The spitting of Sauron endured" - I think what these people are doing is running the soundtrack through a voice-recognition program, and these are notorious for their close-but-no-cigar approach to recognizing words. The accent with which McKellen says "spirit" could *almost* sound like there's a T in place of the R; similarly with Christopher Lee and "ox" for "Orcs." So I'm inclined to think that they're real. Just my $0.02.
