RotK, compared to the better 2003 film
This vid really is about Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, which RK beat out for Best Picture, but which I and many critics think was actually the best film made in the first decade of this century. He only makes a few references to RK, but where he does it's to point out, by the contrast, how a grownup makes a serious movie.

I enjoyed Master and Commander a lot. You can't go wrong with Paul Bettany and Robert Pugh in supporting roles (if I recall Billy Boyd plays a minor role as well).
I think ROTK won on being a good film, but more based on being the final/end to an even better trilogy. Personally, FOTR and TTT were superior films, but ROTK had the emotional factor in being the end of the story.
