Howver, it was Sam who kept them going. Frodo's capture led to several truly brave acts on Sam's part. It's a tough question though, specially since Aragorn took the paths of the dead and Turin was marvelously brave. But yes, Sam it is. By bravery do you mean overcoming your fear, or the total absence of fear. The answer would change with the definition. I rather think gravery is the former and courage the latter....or is it vice-versa? Humour is emotional chaos remembered in moments of tranquility.
|

But then of course, he didn't get to go because of Boromir's death. Instead he, Legolas, and Gimli followed the orcs to try and rescue Merry and Pippin, which I still find very brave. They would have been slaughtered had they caught up with the orcs first. Here's a toast, to all those who hear me all to well. Here's to the nights we felt alive. Like lorien wanderer said that he did lose hope at times but i can't really blame him for that 'cause sam didn't bear the ring which was a huge burdenand in the end frodo did manage to destroy the ring
|

I agree about Boromir.
Also, he defended the Hobbits afterwards.

First to come to mind was Fingon, but I think there are others that equal his courage. Bilbo Baggins showed great courage when he entered Smaug's cave. Not bad for a small gentle hobbit who'd lead an easy life. Maybe someone would argue that he did this out of ignorance? I do not think that he did though, he was clearly fighting back fear, probaby the worst fear of his life.

even though this not on ur selections but i think eowyn was brave she was a very fair maiden who went to war and killed the king of nazgul......and also i think sam is very brave he didnot have to go to mordor w/frodo but he wanted t o how many ppl do that w/a special task (he had no ring to destroy but only helped)and b/c of him the ring was destyored or else sauron would be ruling. and also i think it was merry that killed the nazgul too nnot many ppl can do that but i vote for aragorn and sam.

I, personally, think that Huan was very brave. He was the hound from the tale of Beren and Luthien. He is actually probably my favorite character from the Silmarillion. I mean: technically, he didn't really need to help them, but he did. And: he used his 3 times to speak on them...

Sam Gamgee is the bravest.
He was there for Frodo all the time and also had the strength to assist and help him for all hardships they came across and though one time he left him and took the ring for his own for he thought he was dead. Even though said that he wanted to join them in the journey to 'see' some elves, i thinkl part of his intention was to be by the side of his master.
