Hell yea I figure with my crew they'd bring their 10 things, so I'd be set.
I would have brought Bruce Lee, but I don't think he gets down on Hobbit-leaf. If I was to bring something else, it would have to be an invisibility cloak. But I think that's infringing on someone else's copyright....

Keeping it more realistic:
1) Toilet paper 2) Vector (it's a cereal and I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT) 3) a pony (I'm too short to be comfortable riding a horse) 4) My puffy vest (it's warm and lightweight, what more could you want?) 5) Someone who knows the way ie not Frodo. Better than a map as places can change with war about. I guess Aragorn or Gandalf then. 6) Frodo. How could I have a quest without him? 7) Pippin and Merry (yes they come together, 2 for 1 deal) for comic relief. 8) A good pair of hikers. I need better boots. 9) Groundpad. I am not good AT ALL at sleeping on the ground. I'm a lousy camper. I can sleep well on the second night in one place, bu on a quest... I doubt we'd stay in the same place for more than a few hours. 10) My friend Katherine's sleeping bag. It squishes down to an unbelievably small size and is very warm. She boasts about it ALL THE TIME. Damn I forgot Sam. Well, I think he'd come along anyways, to keep an eye on Master Frodo.

The question was what 10 things we'd bring, right? People, being things (classified as a noun) qualify. Plus it's a chance for us to express our Tookish cleverness

My 10 items would be the following:
1. An Elvish Blade 2. As many packs of llembas as I could get my hands on! 3. One of the horses of Rohan, to carry me on my journey 4. A compass 5. A map of Middle-Earth 6. An Elven-Cloak of the same fashion as the company were attired in 7. Two long Elvish Knives, like those of Legolas 8. A bow 9. As many arrows as I could carry 10. A pack, in which I would store as many of my items as possible! [ November 22, 2002: Message edited by: Aragorn186 ] |

Also just using the word "things" does not limit the said "things" to ME. So using that logic:
1) U.S. military for fire power 2) The Food Network's Staff and provisions for uh...FOOD! 3) Reporters from CNN so the rest of ya'll can watch me live. 4) The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. To help cheer me on to victory. 5) Howard Shore and the London Philharmonic Orchestra on flat bed trailers hauled by a fleet of 18 wheelers. Gotta have my tunes! 6) The Crocodile Hunter...To help keep a hold of Gollum..Danger, Danger, Danger. 7) A fleet of refrigerated beer trucks to keep the morale up. 8) Mithril jumpsuits ala Elvis with matching sunglasses. Just because I'm going to the land of shadow dosn't mean I can't go stylin'. 9. Some Carmex 10. Carrot Top the comedian. I figure I'll throw him and the ring into the cracks of Doom instead of Gollum. [ November 22, 2002: Message edited by: nerddogs ] |

Well if we're not limiting to Middle earth things then this is my new list:
1) The One Ring 2) A helicoptor That's all I need. I'd just get in the helicopter with the One Ring, go drop the ring into Mt. Doom and come back in a few hours. Why couldn't the actual journey be that simple? Of course then it woundn't be as enjoyable to read.
