HoME is "The History of Middle Earth", a multi-volume publication edited by Christopher Tolkien.
The HoME books contain a very large amount of material by JRRT, mostly notes and early drafts of The Silmarillion and Lord of The Rings. They show how the stories developed in Tolkien's mind, how much the earlier bits had to be re-written as the later parts of the work emerged and how much was cut before The Sil and LoTR were published. |
