My brother and I are quite fond of the phrase "It's mine, I found it, it came to me!" We use it a lot when one of us is trying to take or get something from the other. My brother especially likes to say this when I ask him to hand me things and situations such as that.

Edit: Yay! My 400th post!

I use "Well, that doesn't make sense to me, but then you are very small." every once in a while. It earns some strange glances or a knowing groan.

I use "precious" a lot. I also use things like: "To war! " and "Fell deeds awake! " whenever I have a test at Latin, and I sometimes say "Stand, Men of the West! " to my classmates before difficult classes.

Here in Germany, the mid-morning snack is actually called "second breakfast"! We must be hobbits after all...

Silmaril Aiya Earendil!

Oh man... ME language has been so integrated in my normal speech that I seldom even notice it anymore! (scary huh).

I randomly will call things "preciousssssss."

When someone asks me where we're going... "to Rivendell, Master Gamgee... to the house of Elrond."

When I'm exasperated, inevidably I'll say "Aiya Earendil!"

In an area that is too overbuilt: "They need more gardens, the houses are dead."

Whenever we're by a beach: "Alas! for the gulls. No peace shall I have again under beech or under elm."

When someone is really aggravating me.... "Stuupid, faattt, hobbit!"

I too will often say "Poh-tay-toes!"

When I don't want to go somewhere: "I do not wish to go into the mines."

I talk to my dog in Elvish and Rohirric, yeah I'm slightly crazy, but "faeste, stille nu" calms him much better than simply telling him to settle down. When he gets scared, or when he's hyper-alert about something, "Man le trasta."

When riding horses at the stable, I would often say "Noro lim!"

I use misc. Elvish phrases for different situations in everyday life... mae govannem, hannon le, man le trasta, man cenich, be eist lin, lasto beth nin, havo dad, losto, sedho hodo. the list goes on and on........

When there's a car approaching me and whomever I'm with: "Get off the road!"

I too use the Frodo-accent "You're late!"

Randomly I'll call out "Nedin dagor hen u-erir otheri. Natha daged dhaer!" you get most interesting reactions from nearby "normals" when you do that, or randomly start singing the Lay of Luthien.
The list goes ever on and on..........

I tend to mutter stuff about "minds of metal and wheels" a lot .. especially when writing one of my increasingly frequent letters to the council objecting to the actions of the local Ted Sandymen......

And "they have a cave troll" is used ot signify that a bad situation has just got a whole lot worse....

I will randomly break out into one of the verses of the "cold hard lands" compleate with an accent.

at other times when my sister's rather evil boyfriend is over I will say "he is here!"

My personal favorite though is "smeagol is free."
I usally say this right after school.

Something else I used to be quite fond of saying was "Mutton yesterday, mutton today and if it dont look like mutton again tomorrer", replacing mutton with whatever I was eating That used to annoy the family

Well, this one is kind of weird, but then, I am a weird fellow.

Whenever someone asks me a question that I don't know tha answer to, I sometimes reply: "I don't have any answers for you, Frodo." in that desperate, anguish-filled Gandalf tone. People who aren't around me much look at me weird because I just called them Frodo, but most of my friends and family just ignore me.

Today as I was leaving work (it was late at night), I started whispering to myself, "We now face the long dark of *insert town name.* (Why is it that they make the employees park the farthest away from the store? Ahem...) Be on your guard. There are older and fouler things than orcs in the deep places of *insert town name.*"

I also use, "Which way is Mordor, Gandalf? Left or right?" when I'm driving.

Online to greet people, I often say "Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo."

I am guilty of having quoted the "It's a dangerous business going out your door..." one by Bilbo quite often. Along with "Are you frightened? Not nearly frightened enough..." which to someone who is not a Lord of the Rings fan is rather frightening

I used to say "Bless my bark" a lot of times last spring. It freaked people out. One of my friends even asked me once: "Since when do you have a bark?"

My favorite quote is "May it be a light for you in dark places, when all other lights go out." The light of the Lady really helped Sam and Frodo to make it through the darkness. It's as if she knew they would be going through difficult times.

When someone can't read my handwriting (which happens quite often), I've been known to explain, "The language is that of Mordor, which I will not utter here..."

Before starting my GCSE's last year, I turned to my fellow LOTR freak and said "For Frodo! " and now he keeps saying it to me just to remind me

I use a lot of quotes that have been mentioned before... Most notably preciousss of course.

But I'd like to add a personal favourite of mine. Whenever someone asks me: "Is that so hard?" or something along the same lines, I reply Bilbo movie style: "Well no… and yes!" trying to sound as evil as possible.

It's fun. And -according to most people- seriously annoying.

For some time after the movies came out, me and my friends used to quote Gollum's my precious , although it sounds better in german. "Mein Schaaaaaaatz" said by Bilbo sounds rather cool.
I also use "what is this new devilry", but I don't say it loud, because of obvious reasons.
And I also use Gandalf's "don't be too eager..." and "A wizard is never late...".

Tolkien is nearly as great a source of quotes as is Goethe. (well, at least Goethe is in the German-regions.)

My acting class is filled to the brim with Gollum fanatics. One person says something in a Gollum voice, then another responds in a Gollum voice, and it just cascades out of control until my professor breaks in and tells us to get back to working on our scenes. This is usually followed by "Forth Eorlingas!" from one of the guys.
