Don't worry, Tig. I know alllllllll about emotional-roller-coaster weeks. I would post why I know about them, but I'm sure people don't really want to know about me finishing high school, my dog almost dying, my guy issues, my college issues, my parent issues, or my classmates-til-Friday-when-I-never-have-to-acknowledge-them-as-classmates-again issues.
So here are encouraging words: Things get better. I promise. And since I know everything, how can you possibly doubt me? No, I'm serious. Things always get better. Especially if you make yourself look for things to make you smile. Read a good book. I can name one or two (coughLotRcough). Or watch a funny movie. Or get your favorite kind of ice cream and eat it outside on the grass in the sun. That kind of thing. And think of it this way... at least your tone-deaf next-door neighbor isn't butchering really good music with his electric guitar by trying to play along. And if it helps, we all think you're doing a fantastic job.

Is this a dance photograph, Vanima, with your hair tied back starkly? I like it, particularly the colouring. Skip the makeup.
I must say my accessories are somewhat different from Lush's, as is my taste in older men. Nothing against davem, but Narfforc's piccie suggests something impish to me. And as for accessories, I'm tied between SpM's adorable kids (tsk, using them to increase your charm quota!) and Meela's cat. That garden wall behind Meela is straight out of Middle-earth it seems to me. Tig, this is just so cool. Really. You've made a wonderful contribution to the Downs here. Better than cool even! |

And just where is your picture, Bethberry???
Ok, I got off my sorry butt and updated. I'm truly sorry to those who've had their pictures rotting in my inbox... but hey, we're dead, so we're used to rotting, no? I added Balin999 and SonOfBombadil (yay for uping the male count), and removed Encaitare as per her request. I also changed my piccie, because I got bored... haha. |

Wow, that new pic of yours is better than the last one, Tigerlily.
You're quite a hottie too

But Fordim, it doesn't matter what picture we see of you. You are cemented as Indie. Until you post a picture of Harrison Ford, there shall remain no comment.

I am in fact contemplating submitting a picture of my own somewhat after the manner of your own, Fordim, so rest assured that your influence is not waning with your haphazard appearances here on the Downs. Tig, there's a picture of me on the Chat Wights page of the forum. The one that BW has not desecrated with the pirate patch, although I find that one extremely funny. You had to be in chat to understand it though. |

I do not see that thread anywhere, Bethberry
Also, I just saw the posts by obloquy and VanimaEdhel on the last page. Obloquy says I can put that pic on the page, but Vanima... do you want me to add yours as well??? If ya'll do want your pictures added to the page... can you PM me personally and/or email them to me, because I may not see them on here otherwise. Thanks |

Fordim, bless his ever-gaming soul, has linked to the pirate patch picture. BW created alternate pics for all the ops. Mithadan is Gregory Peck, Legolas/Ulmo is Orlando Bloom, Rimbaud is Miss Piggy (the flip side of his Kermit chat nick), etc etc.
To see the original pic, just refresh the page or go 'hair' for Bethberry . |

Hmm, the chat-wights page comes up different ways different times you click it...
I could almost find myself wishing that Rimbaud would bring back that Kermit picture for his avatar. There is just...something about it.

Just sent my picture in. Well it's my wife, daughter and me. It's a bit 6 months old so my daughter has changed a lot but enjoy.

Now that you mention it, definitely.
But I thought more of Galadriel, though Tigerlily would have been a better one, I guess.

And please don't interfere with my blatant attempt at shmoozing the site's host (note that shmoozing means being overtly nice to someone in order to beg a favor in the future such as submitting a new photo, nothing more). I'm sending flattery so that if, in the future, I were to submit a new photo she might consider swapping it in. As my first was in color, would that hypothetical second need to be in B/W? Not that I'm asking anything...

Hmmm...Estelyn was the starter of that particular refrain. Then when she had the opportunity to meet me and see what I look like, she wouldn't. Something about a plane that she just haaaad to catch.

I was hoping that this Father's Day would produce a good picture of me and the kids, but somehow we'd skipped it this year. In years past, my wife would make all of us tie-dyed shirts (even the dog) and I'd get a photo with all of us so attired.
Note that we like tie-dye not because we're hippies (far from it) but because it's colorful, easy to make and is pretty much pre-stained, which is an important consideration when you have children who somehow always manage to get something on your shirt. And come on, Kuruharan, get off of the sidelines - it's about time that you sent in a pic.

Beware of a narfforcs smile
Bethberry, how well you read me. There is something very impish going on behind those eyes and the world will know when The Lord or the Grins is finally published, and I have to go into hiding like Salman Rushdie ha- ha. By the way I am an older man (single) and I have five Grandchildren, the oldest being ten, I am not quite one of the Dunedain, but I am a pensioner and spend huge quantities of money on face cream.
