Gandlaf
correct me if i'm worng, but in Moria Gandalf tells the Balrog that he is the servant of the secret flame/fire, weilder of the secrect flame of Anor. isn't Anor the world, or is it valinor, or what? and if it's the world, then wouldn't gandalf be sent to middle earth directly from Eru?

Gandalf was sent to Middle-earth by Manwe, along with the other four wizards. They are all Maiar, and thus Ainur - beings that can exist outside of Ea. The matter of the words he spoke to the balrog hahas been discussed here and you may search for those threads using the 'search' function of this forum.

And "Anor" is the Sun. (Had to squeeze that in just in case this gets locked)
