Music from the Movies...
I just watched the European Figure Skating championships; the couple from Poland skated to the music from FotR! Have any of you heard the film music somewhere else?

Last year at the 2002 Olympics, Todd Elderage (sorry I don't know how to spell his last name) skated to the music of FOTR too, after the free skate he was in 15th place (I think ) and the final skate that was too FOTR took him up about 11 places. It was the highlight of the Olympics for me .

I'm a HUGE New York Rangers fan (for those of you who may not know, that's NHL - HOCKEY, man!). Anyway, they play the LotR theme at some point during every home game @ MSG during play stoppages.

I remember that. I just couldn't remember that Todd was the one who skated to it. That was an excellent performance he did too.
My orchestra teacher is a big fan of LOTR and is letting us perform "In Dreams" for a spring concert. My whole orchestra class is excited about that.

I heard the LotR music skated to before, as well...it was a medly of LotR and Lord of the Dance. I can't remember if it was dance or pairs though, and who the couple who skated to it were. It might have been the Polish couple Estelyn saw, just at a different event.
I got to watch Todd Eldridge skate to the LotR music more than once, because I watched a lot of skating last year. I think all throughout the Chevy Grand Prix "tournament" he used it, plus at the American Championships...so I got to see it over and over again. Sadly, his Olympic performance wasn't as good as the other times. And every time, the announcers kept yakking over it, reminding us over and over that he may or may not attempt a quad. I hate that.
But why on Earth would the New York Rangers use it? I don't get the connection...

My friend is playing parts of "Many Meetings" and "The Ring Goes South" in her orchestra. I was really excited when she told me, because she is now a LotR fan, and this was the first I heard of schools using it.
