Gil-galad
Greetings to all -- I'm a new member, so you must bear with me if it takes me a bit to fell my way around this site (which looks great, by the way)....
One of the internet movie sites included an actor who is to play Gil-galad. obviously -- and to my disappointment -- Gil-galad did not make an appearance at the beginning of LOTR with Isildur, Elrond, et al. Anyone out there know anything about how Gil-galad might be woven into TT or RoTK? Any guesses? (I was also disappointed that Glorfindel did not amke an appearance in FotR, but nonetheless was thrilled by the visual creations of the movie -- Moria, the Balrog, Rivendell, etc.).

Hullo, and welcome to the Downs!
I remember seeing Gil-Galad listed in the credits for the movie. There was a glimpse of him in the very beginning of the movie when the Rings of Power were being described. Perhaps they shall fit him in later on if they talk more about how two of the rings were passed to Gandalf and Elrond.
I think that this may happen in the last movie if they choose to show it.

Gil-galad was in the movie. He was there at the Last Alliance. He was the guy that shoved the spear (Aeglos) into his victim. Trust me, I looked for that hottie specifically!

Thanks for the replies. Guess I'm going to have to look at the movie (yet again!) more closely. I can't imagine how I missed him, esp. since I of course do know about his spear Aeglos, and thus kept my eye out for that. (as well, the manner of his death at Sauron's hands was missing from the movie.) Still, I thought he could have been highlighted a bit more than that -- I do not recall that he is ever referred to by name in that sequence at the beginning of the movie. I am wondering whether the next movies will perhaps take some artistic license and weave his character back in some other way....

Welcome to the Downs, Telperion!
I was hoping to see more of Gil-galad also. But I will have to comfort myself with reading about him! (OR . . . perhaps PJ will make a prequel to the LOTR!! - now there's a thought!)

I bought the extended DVD and if I am not mistaken one of the extras, involving an early story board of the prologue, showed Sauron picking Gil-Galad up and setting him ablaze with the heat of his hand. Just a little interesting tidbit, which would have been pretty cool to see on-screen.

There you go Gil-Galad to the rescue! Can't wait for TTT , booking first showing tickets now!!! for once our small local welsh cinema has got a film on the day it opens everywhere else ! it's fair to say i'm quite pleased
Also by the sounds of things there could be quite a few flashbacks in TTT and ROTK , a way of weaving the history of ME into the films .

Hmm i only saw him in the beginning with the people who had the elven rings....have to check again.....maybe they should have had Gil-Galad leads the troops in the beggining since he is the Leader and all....but i guess since he died it would make it seem like to many unnecessary charaters for the audience.....
