Pretty cool. This is pretty funny, to, because in a few short months I'm going to be involved in a stage version of <I>The Hobbit</I>, probably as Bard.<P>Keep up the good work!

*grumbles at Manwe's luck* Anyway, that seems really great, keep going! But I have one little thing to ask, even though it's probably already been explained: why couldn't you keep some parts, like Bilbo smoking instead of getting the mail? I'm not suggesting you change it, I just want to know why for curiosity's sake.

That was very nice, Aragorn. <P>Since you want feedback, there are a couple things I will mention. This scene here:<P> <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:<HR> OLD MAN<BR>No thank you…I would very much like to join you though I’m rather doing a bit of…business<P>BILBO<BR>(rather rude)<BR>Business…No need for any business here, so good morning kind sir. You may try over the hill or under the hill. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE><P>Why did you change adventure to business? I think it's rather important to establish hobbits' distaste for adventure, and this was a good place to do it.<P>And then just something that is one of my favorite lines from the Hobbit: which you left out:<P> <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:<HR> "...I will give you what you asked for."<P>"I beg your pardon, I haven't asked for anything!"<P>"Yes you have! Twice now. My pardon. (Etc.)" <HR></BLOCKQUOTE><P>Those were just a couple things that I missed right away when reading through it.<P>I like the opening, with Bilbo talking about hobbit holes.

Good! Might you want to mention or show the Dwarves treaure? I didn't know if you were waiting to talk about that at the Un-Expected party...I just thought about it because that was Smaug's motivation and all.<P>Carry on.

<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:<HR>Yeah I will explain about the dwarves wealth...I just wanted to put up what I have done. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE><P>You might not have to mention the treasure. Part of a movie is that you can show some parts instead of telling them.<P>When Bilbo says that the Dwarves would "reclaim thier own" you can have a shot of treasure. I think that people with get the idea that the dwarves want their treasure back. Oh and you could add a shot of the Arkenstone(sp) for a bit of forshadowing. You wouldn't have to tell us what it was but when we see it again some people will realize that it was shown at the begaining of the movie.

Thanks for the replies, but sadly unless we get more people to respond to this thread I'll have to close it down and that means nonone will see the other 20 pages or so that I have done.<P>I think I will show the arkenstone and treasure but not fully explain it. Like a shot of Thrain holding up the arkenstone in awe.<P>Anyway,<BR>Cya

I love it! I think it is really really great! WoW! No criticism, except that Bilbo doesn't say good day, but good morning.

I haven't read the hobbit so I have only a really vague idea of what it's about, I haven't allowed myself to read the script as I want to read the book first. (I'm typing strangely fast today for some reason)

Wow! Amazing script Jarryd. Are you intending to include every chapter of the book in the script? Or are you chopping off a lot of the what is told in every chapter?

Bravo Bravo!! Aragorn, you have real talent. This script is spectacular. I like it especially because it is v similar to the book. Almost to the exact. It would make an absolutely wonderful movie!! Well Done!!<P>I don't know if you said but ... would it be cartoon, computer animated (i.e. Pixar) or with real people. I assume it's with real people as Peter Jackson was mention one or two times. Just curious.

Just a question to see how people would like this idea. Couldn't we, if a movie is made, have Gandalf telling the story a.l.a U.T and also him describing how he managed to persuade Thorin to take Bilbo on the quest? It was one of my favourite parts in U.T ,and quite amusing and would give the audience a new prespective on the motives of Gandalf in sending Bilbo and on Thorin's character.
