During the war of the ring who inhabited Angmar and what was their role in the war?

I don't think anyone inhabited it except perhaps the odd wandering creature.

Angmar was disbanded after Arnor fell, Gondor and teh elves finnally cam to their aid, but of course it was too late, but angmar had no role in war of the ring, except getting rid of arnor

During the specific time period of the War of the Ring, Angmar as an entity didn't influence the outcome. It had been destroyed decades before, by the combined forces of Earnur of Gondor, Glorfindel of Rivendell, and Cirdan of Mithlond. However, its king, the Witch-king of Angmar, was the leader of the Nazgul, so I guess you could say that Angmar played somewhat of a part in the War of the Ring.

I'm pretty sure it destroyed more than a few decades before, more like centuries.

Well if you count 1075, the year the Witch king was defeated at the Battle of Fornost and persued to the Ettenmoors and then vanishes from the north, as the destruction of Angmar, then it is 1944 years to the war of the ring (3019). If you ask me that's more than a few decades.

The year of the battle of Annuminas was 1975, so its only about a thousand years.

While the 'WitchKingdom' of Angmar had been destroyed over 1000 years before LoTR, I'd reckon that there were still orcs, wolves and possibly trolls around the Angmar area.

In the Hobbit, the capitol of the orcs of the Misty Mountains is given as Mount Gundabad, which happens to be right on the eastern edge of old Angmar. Although the orcs were weakened by the Battle of Five armies, I'd imagine that they would have recovered by the time of the War of the Ring. Perhaps they contributed to the attacks on Dale and Erebor and the fighting in Mirkwood?

I've always reckoned that Mount Gram (home of the orc chief Golfimbul) must have been in the Angmar area too.

There is nothing saying that the orcs of Mt.Gunbadad did really much after the dragon incidence, soem orcs from moria helped saruman, to revenge there fallen brethern i nthe mines by the fellowship... and after angmar fell, most of hte orcs were hunted out, or feld to orc infested places, War of the dwarves and Orcs, where most of both race were greatly dimished, so i doubt angmar did really much, except help in saurons plan for kiling the north kingdom
