Hello,

I'm looking for a Quenya translation of the following poem:

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

Does somebody have that for me???

The poem wasn't written in Quenya, but in the Black Speech, using elven letters. If you look in the Fellowship of the Ring, Gandalf is quoted for two of the lines (in his address to the Elrond et. al.), but the rest are only given in English "translation".

What about the Elven script on the flyleaf of the hardback version? I think that might be the poem but I can't remember if it's complete. Am I right?

The actual text in Tengwar (elven letters) is in the book (The Shadow of the Past) - you'd probably have to try and reproduce that by trial and error.

(I wonder what Tolkien would think of all this? Apparently he wasn't too fond of the inscription on the ring...)

No look, I think that if you look on the flyleaf of the hardback copy, there is a border in Elven Script, which I'm pretty sure is at least some of that poem. As someone said before, it's Black Speech written in the Elvish letters. Gandalf reads it in "Shadow of the Past", but he doesn't give the Black Speech version until the Council of Elrond. Even my paperback has something on the title page which, at a quick glance, appears to be what you are looking for so you could just copy it from there.
