What is Sauron?
I know, this sounds really, really stupid, but what exactly is Sauron? I`ve what he was, but forgot. (and I call myself an LotR expert! [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img] [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] ) Please help! Thanks a bunch! [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] [img]smilies/tongue.gif[/img]

To my best knowing Sauron is just another evil Maia like the Balrog. A servant of Morgoth and a demi-god to the valar.

I think Sharkś hit the nail on the head there. He was a Maia of the Vala whom Melkor(Morgoth) currupted to his evil will. If my memory severs he was a fire spirt, which would explain the eye but i could be wrong on this.

Sauron is a maia spirit (or something like that) in that book about that other ring i probably was no help, but what can I say???
