The Squint-Eyed Southerner
In Unfinished tales, there is a small part about the Black Riders questioning the man who turned out to be the Squint-Eyed Southerner in Bree. Now, Tolkien wrote many versions of what happened on the Ringwraiths road to Hobbiton and this particular example is not necessarily accurate, but still.
It's not the overall questioning or his work for Saruman that I'm discussing, it's the apparent fact that the Southerner is an outcast of Dunland. The reason for this was because the man had "Orc blood" Now I am assuming this history of the man to be true, if anyone knows that it is false then please tell me. My question is this. The Dunlendings clearly hated Orcs as well as the Rohirrim. No matter how skillful Saruman was, how in the world did he get the Dunlendings to fight side by side with Orcs?

And so, with Aracorn son of Arakorn and Arwren daughter of Elrob, the sundered lines of the Peredyrch, the Half-Orcish, were reunited, and....
Sorry..."temporary" memory lapse. Uhh....they hated the Rohirrim even more than the Orcs or them newfangled Uruk-hai guys. And Saruman probably promised them Edoras or something in return for their service.

Sauron's favourite weapon: Bribing 'weak mortals' with power, etc. Some people will do ANYTHING for power

Um what the person above me said.
It should not be too hard to conside crossing sides if you bump the images out of your head. Have you ever seen shows where they bribe people to do something outragous for a dollar. Pretty sad huh? Well it is the same logic, bribe people with something that really has little value to do something outragous. In middle-earth, fight with Saurman and he will reward you for your loyality. Sounds like a bargin with the devil?
