Apparently so kyranger,
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-11604193 I guess he's best known as Dr Watson in the new Sherlock Holmes TV series in the UK and as Arthur Dent in the Hitchhikers Guide film. I think Martin Freeman should fit into Bilbo's role pretty well, so he gets the thumbs-up from me.

I think Freeman is a fantastic choice, to be honest. I mean, look at the man! He even LOOKS like a hobbit lol. And he's a very talented actor. I think he'll be able to pull off playing Bilbo spectacularly.

This makes me happy. Martin is very good at playing the slightly-dopey-but-turns-out-to-be-more-clever-than-even-he-thought character. (Much as we all love Bilbo dearly, you have to admit that he is a bit bumbling at first.)
Now let's just pray he lives up to our expectations...

I have another true or false question...
Is it true that Elijah Wood will be popping up in the movie as Frodo? And is it also true that Orlando Bloom is in it again as Legolas? I found this info on IMDB.com under the The Hobbit Part 1 movie title.

True or false:
Legolas will have a mistress in Laketown. Btw that's "Notintendedtobeafactualstatement" (Sorry, couldn't resist).

I heard Legolas would have a small park in Mirkwood, but I've heard nothing of Frodo.
