Admin Thread for WW LXXXII: Return to Tol-in-Gaurhoth
Fellow Barrow-Downers,
it is time for us to return to the original Tol-in-Gaurhoth, the ghastly keep ruled by the terrifying Lord of Wolves, Sauron, and inhabited by all kinds of horrors. You are valiant Elves of Nargothrond, a wolf hunting party led by the brave but wilful Lady Thinlómien and you shall be taken by the Enemy, tortured and slain one by one unless the fool's hope prevails and you shall be rescued against all odds by your kinsmen... Welcome to WW LXXXII: Return to Tol-in-Gaurhoth, the fourth game modded by yours truly and the first one actually involving werewolves... You are all Nargothrondian Elves, some of you are professional hunters, some of you are something else. I would like everybody to come up with some specific characteristic for their character: a profession (if they're not hunters), a hobby, a colour or an animal they identify with, a dominant personality trait or a special thing in their appearance etc. This is just to help me write the narrations. I also ask people to keep it tolkienish and relatively believable, so please no chamber pot emptiers of Finrod Felagund or people who had so big noses they keep tripping on it, however funny it might be... ~*~ The rules Roles 3 Wolves - opposed to the innocents. They win when their number is equal or bigger than the number of the remaining innocents. May PM with each other during the Nights. Each Night, they choose to kill someone and send their name to me. Unless something drastic happens, this person dies. Seer - on the innocent side. Every Night, the seer chooses a person to dream of and PMs his choice to me. This persons' role is revealed to the seer. Unlike normally, can see the cobbler's role. Ranger - on the innocent side. Every Night, chooses someone to protect by PMing me his choice. If this person is attacked by the wolves, she will not die. Cannot protect the same person two times in a row or himself. Hunter - on the innocent side. Picks a person to hunt. If he's lynched, his hunt target dies too regardless of her role. If he dies at Night, his hunt target dies if she's a wolf and doesn't die if she's not. The hunter may change his pick once every Day and every Night and does that by informing me by PM. If he doesn't inform me about a change in his pick I assume it to be the same as before. If the hunter somehow fails to make any pick at all before he dies he will die alone. Cobbler - on the wolves' side. Doesn't know their identity. Wins with the wolves but counts as an ordo in the final tally. Unlike in most games, will show as a cobbler if dreamt by the seer. X Ordos - on the innocent side. The guys who have the must fun. Other rules - all the players should be on the invisible mode. - all the votes should be cast as follows: ++Thinlómien (two pluses, bolded, on a separate row). - the deadline for the votes and Nightly picks is 8 pm GMT. Votes with the time stamp 8.00 do count, the ones with 8.01 or more don't. The mod asks the wolves and the gifteds to kindly submit their Night picks an hour before the deadline if possible. - no double lynchings. In the case of a tie, the mod flips a coin. - no retractable votes. - don't edit your posts except to mark cross-posting or correct spelling. - PMs may not be quoted or used as evidence. - living players may not talk about the game with each other outside the thread (unless they are wolves who are allowed to PM with each other, of course). - the dead don't talk, not on the thread and not by PM with the living. Preferably the dead keep out of the admin thread as well - there are very few things you can't leave to the aftergame discussion. - modfire will be exercised if somebody doesn't vote for two Days in a row or breaks the rules severely. It'll be upon the mod's judgement, though. (No modfire for forgetting to bold a vote or anything like that. ) The General Rules. ~*~ The Player List Legate of Amon Lanc - jeweller with an affinity to the colour white Inziladun - weaponsmith Eönwë skip spence - an admirer of Finduilas's Loslote - young tag-along girl with frizzy hair Shastanis Althreduin - orphan solitary hunter who moves silently, likes blue and has a pet snake Nerwen - young and impatient hunter who makes animal statues of wood and likes the colour green Boromir88 - incompetent gatewarden Glirdan - local batty scholar Nogrod - narcoleptic master-hunter Ozban - young and naive hunter and admirer of Finrod Felagund Pitchwife - furrier A Little Green - veteran hunter with a striking resemblance to an opossum wilwarin538

All right, let me be the first one to sign up
I have to think of an occupation and other things yet, though. I need to think it through first...

Thanks! I'd intended to take a break, but I've yet to be part of a Lommy-modded game and thought it was an opportunity not to be missed.

Guess what guess what guess what guess what guess what?
I'm signing up. As...a whiny tag-along girl who was *not* supposed to come, but sneaked after her daddy anyway. She likes neon colours and has frizzy hair. (I sign up as a young girl a lot, don't I? Ah well!)

Awwww, that's an impossible deadline for me. No way I'll join; I'd be far too tempted to get on the site during work, and....well, bad.
If the DL shifts to anywhere after 10 pm GMT someone should clue me in, yes? Also, I nearly died when I read the thread title. For personal reasons, of course.

I will never - never - clarify a rule for anyone ever again. Ever. That's the only reason I was lynched and I fully blame Lottie.
Go wolves. You guys suck. - An extremely frustrated Shasta who has never been Seer before and was summarily lynched while not around to defend himself, apparently for the crime of clarifying whether or not the Hunter killed an innocent if lynched.

Sorry for non-vote– I just didn't know who to vote earlier, and I wasn't able to get online nearer DL.
Not that it would have made much difference.

Just letting you know you shouldn't draw any conclusions on the gender of the mystery person in the narration based of my usage of "he": it was chosen to differentiate from the ranger being "she".
(The same logic will go for all narrations in the future, in case I need to talk about someone unnamed. ) PS. Eönwë and Wilwa, if you want interesting death narrations in case you die, please give some details about your occupations.

Just an announcement - as I have also said on the game thread, I will have to vote early toDay, and then again, on the contrary, I won't be around during the most of Day 3 and likely be around only close to its end (in case I am still alive at that time). Just so that people don't expect me to post when I am not around...
