Eorl of Rohan has just left Hobbiton.
Sting Colour of Stonecrop?

In LOTR, it is said that stonecrop growing among the fissures of the hair of the statue of the king looked like a crown. "Look! The king has got a crown again!"

I read somewhere in barrowdowns, written by the great barrow-wigth himself, that stonecrop was red, not yellow. Surprised, I check my copy of LOTR and it still said "yellow" if I was not blind.

Putting the matter of yellow or red-haired king to one side, what color is the stonecrop?

Sting

You're right, it says they're yellow in the book.

The Barrow-Wight is a guest of Tom Bombadil.
Sting

I said that? I don't think so.

Until reading this topic, I don't ever recall using the word 'stonecrop' in anything that I have ever written. In fact, I didn't even know what stonecrop was until I just now went and looked it up.
