Corny Animation "Battle Scene"
Who here has seen the old animated version of the Hobbit, where all the characters look like little smurfs? More importantly who has seen the "intense" battle scene at the end of the movie? My family stayed up till midnight watching it, waiting for the promised scene...only to discover that it was really just a drawn cloud of dust. Such a disappointment has not been felt in my family since...well, ever! Did anyone see this version? And was anyone else left feeling slightly disappointed at the end of the film?

I know the movie you're talking about Parmawen and actually I love the movies. Especially the really cheesy songs. lol.
FYI, Celebuial, the animated movies "The Hobbit" and "The Return of the King" were from Warner Bros. Studios, produced by Arthur Rankin and Jules Bass and directed by same. Both came out in the late 1970's and are hard to find nowadays except in enthusiasts collections. My parents and siblings hate me watching them, but I can't help myself. I love 'em. Sadly enough my first introduction to J.R.R. Tolkien was by watching the animated "The Hobbit." Please don't laugh too hard.

I've only seen bits and pieces of that one. It's a cult classic.
The thing about cult classics though is that they don't always achieve that status while being any good. "Glitter," anyone?
