Theme Songs
Just songs that connect to the characters in Tolkien's books.
Denethor- "Burn baby burn...disco inferno!" Boromir (Carrying on the Disco family legend)- "Staying alive, staying alive" Bombadil- "Skippety-do-da Skippety-ay, My oh my, what a wonderful day." Legolas- "Man, I feel like a Woman!" Helm Hammerhand- "Ice, Ice, baby!" King Thranduil- "If I were the king of Lothlorien! What a king I would be-e-e-." (Think The lion, Wizard of Oz). Yavanna- "Green grass grows all around, all around, and the green grass grows all around." Gimli (I just picture as a rapper)- "I like big butts and I cannot lie..." Varda- "Twinkle, Twinkle, little star."

I love the responses so far .
Aragorn: That Lion King Song which I just happen to forget the name of it, but... "Oh I just can't wait to be king...." Sam (climbing up the stairs of Cirith Ungol): "Highway to hell." Faramir: "Papa don't preech, I've been losing sleep." Aragorn in the Fellowship: "We're going straight to the Wild, Wild west." Ents: "We will, we will ROCK you!" Sam: "Aint no mountain high, aint no valley low..." Merry and Pippin: "Hobbits just wanna have fu-un..." (Actually should be "Girls just wann have fu-un, but I had to change it to fit it's purposes ). Frodo to Sam: "I will allllways looove youuuu." Warg: "I aint nothing but hound dog."

I think I need to indulge in some silliness so you might like these:
Eru - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out - The Smiths Ents (and their Entdrafts) - Feed The Tree - Belly Hobbits - Short People - Randy Newman

Balrog- You are the Wind Beneath my Wings (??)
Frodo and Sam while in Cirith Ungol- Boris the Spider by The Who. Nasgul- Ride of the Valkyries (sp?) or Flight of the Bumblebee I know they can't sing it, but I think it would be cool to have that playing in the background every time they rode somewhere. Grima- I Can't Get No Satisfaction Sauron- These Eyes... er... maybe This Eye.

Denethor: Come on baby light my fire Pip and Merry: The run is on, the jig is up, they've finally found me Boromir: Walk like a man Gandalf: Fly like an Eagle Frodo: If I could turn back time Arwen: And I need you now tonight, and I need you more than ever Aragorn: Wanderer, yeah I'm the wanderer Sam: Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me Gollum: Why can't we be friends Legolas: Walk this way!!! (he's just far too swell for any other song) Gimli: Hit me with your best shot

I feel all naughty for saying it, but Tom and Goldberry: We Like to Smoke Pot! by Rasputina (Come on... we're all thinking it!) Frodo: Friend of the Illresponsible by Voltaire (I think this one is obvious) Theoden (after a good De-wizarding): 22 by Frogpond "22... feels like I lost my mind... I feel fine! I feel fine!" Grima: Lullaby by the Cure Every orc that ever lived: The Introduction ...of Les Miserables. You know, that chant? "Look down, look down, don't look 'em in the eye" ? (oOoo) Denethor: Shirt-Waist Fire another Rasputina song. Legolas: Tiptoe Through the Tulips by Tiny Tim The Hobbits: Sweethome (Shire) Alabama! Aragorn: I'm Addicted to Stress I can't remember this artist, either. Get Down Tonight by KC and the Sunshine band. Denethor to Faramir Why Don't you do Right? by Rasputina. Again. Dwarvian Mines/Get togethers Anything by Chichanni. I can't understand whats going on, but I like it! (Chicanni = Peruvian folk music group :\) Ghan-Buri-Ghan and the PUKELMEN!!: Come on (Feel the Noise) "We'll get Wild! Wild, wild!"... "Wild! Wild, wild!" Then there are things that my mind perveses such as When time stands Still (At the Iron Hill) by Blind Guardian which just strikes me as a great song for marching elves. Everywhere. And singing. I might could think of more, but, frankly, I'd have to crack out more CDs/mp3s.

Another song.
In our Deutsch class, I came across this song. With a little modification, it sounded fitting for Saruman. Hier ist es:
Bunt, bunt, bunt sind alle meine Kleider.(I apologise for any wrong grammar or word usage.)

Saruman's wild men army- "The Fixin' to Die Rag" by Country Joe and the Fish
"Well, gather round, all you big strong men, Saruman needs your help again, He's got himself in a terrible jam, Way down yonder in old Rohan! So put down your books and bow to the One! We're gonna have a whole lotta fun! "And it's one, two, three, What are we fighting for? Don't ask me, I don't give a fuss! Next stop is Edoras! "And it's five, six, seven, Open up the old black gate, Well there ain't no time to wonder why, WHOOPEE! We're all gonna die!"

Hey Nilpaurion I just translated your little poem and it really does fit! Especially if you put in next to the picture of Saruman in bright pink robes on the Crazy Captions thread!

Eowyn's plea to Aragorn
Eowyn could have karaoke'd her way into Aragorn's heart with this
Beautiful South number (slightly altered): (Eowyn to Aragorn) Think of you with pipe and slippers, Think of her in bed. Laying there all thinking Elvish Think of me instead. I'll never grow so old and flabby That will never be DON'T MARRY HER - HAVE ME ! And the summer sun shins brightly upon Rivendell, And you realise that this idyll is a living hell. You'll have to be all versed in Elvish etiquette, DON'T MARRY HER - HAVE ME ! |

No idea why this popped into my head but in the Two Towers film when Arwen kisses Aragorn back to life after he falls over that cliff maybe she could sing Staying Alive - just for laughs.

You're probably talking about I Just Can't Wait To Be King which might be a bit weird for her. I mean, she doesn't come across as one who wanted to rule others.
