Aragorn's Genealogy
Has anyone tried to trace Aragorn's genealogy? I'm trying to do it in my spare time and was just wondering if anyone had done it already.
I have traced it back to Amandil, Elendil's father. I was also able to trace it from Marach one of the founders of the three houses of the Edain to Valandil of Numenor. I haven't gone beyond Marach because I haven't gotten that far yet. I can't find any information about the descendants between Valandil of Numenor and Amandil. I'd appreciate any help that you guys could give me.

Well, I'm sure many have, and many have recorded attempts.
Here is an accurate family tree for Aragorn and his son, Eldarion, as well as Arwen: Here ye go, enjoy

So there is no information about the Lords of Andunie? That's what I am missing on Aragorn's side.
I hadn't done Arwen's side because I figured that would be easy to do. I'm not sure if I'm reading this right is Aragorn's ancestor Finwe or Indis? Thanks for sharing this with me. I guess I should have just asked first then I wouldn't have had to go to the all the trouble of researching it myself even though it didn't take that long to do it.

Finwë and Indis were married. Finwë is in the middle like that because he married both Indis and Miriel (not at the same time of course...).
I don't think there is any information about the Lords of Andunië - I've looked. Have you read the Silmarillion? If you haven't, you should. There are some great family trees in the back as well - Arwen's is in there. |

I forgot that Finwe and Indis were married. I haven't read the Silmarillion in a long time and I've only read it once. It's hard to read. I can't seem to remember everyone in it. Some names stand out and some don't like Finwe and Indis. I forgot who they were. I'm planning on reading it again though. I'm reading the two towers right now. I'll get a round to it, though. Have any hints that I can use to keep all the names straight?
