ROP Season 2 is shaping up to be even more incredible with the inclusion of Ciarán Hinds, Rory Kinnear, and Tanya Moodie. Each of them brings a unique flair to their roles, and I'm eagerly anticipating the dynamic they'll add to the series. Counting down the days until the new season!

Darkness Will Bind Them

I, uh... yeah okay, I don't recognise any of these characters any more. Galadriel once, Elrond and Celebrimbor once, Disa once... other than that I'm completely lost.

There's a bunch of narration from Galadriel about how Sauron is totes around, guys. I don't remember if she'd already told the gang that her buddy Halwhatsit was actually the Second Dark Lord? Because it kind of feels like that's what this narration is.

I dunno, I didn't really take much of it in. Might have to go back and do a point-by-point rundown of the thing.

TRAILER RUNDOWN

1. MORDOR. At least I assume it's Mordor. VOLCANOLAND, anyway. Ominous music. A cloaked silhouette walks towards Orodruin. The Prime logo appears and is eaten by blackness.

???: "An evil, ancient and powerful..."

2. FACE lit by evil-looking flames. Is this Sauron? Don't remember. Could be Movie!Kili.

???: "... HAS returned."

3. Durin the Younger in Moria, presumably the speaker, speeching.

4. Venom (you know, Spiderman's black suit) slithers about a bit.

GALADRIEL: "Prepare yourselves."

5. Group in the mist with weapons out. Galadriel, Elrond, and I think that's Tauriel??

6. Someone dissolves into petals? Or moths? Or ash?

???: "He worms his way inside your mind..."

7. A tree, with snakes or roots slithering out from it. There's a lantern in the background, so maybe this is Lindon?

???: "... and the rest of him slithers in."

8. Some guys with torches taking a night hike.

9. Celebrimbor in his house, which might be on fire? He looks confused.

10. Someone approaches a burning figure. Might be Galadriel, because:

GALADRIEL: "I think he has been here. I think he's been here among us all along." (Er, yes, there was a whole mind-invasion thing with your dead brother, remember?)

11. Some guy! In some place with arches! I dunno, the music thinks it's dramatic.

12. ON AUGUST 29th! With cliffs.

13. Two riders, one is probably Galadriel, in an autumnal place.

14. Underwater lady and a kraken?? Huh I guess Uinen and Osse are in this now.

???: "Every soul in Middle-earth is in peril."

15. Disa looks to camera. Durin the elder (probably) looks up a hole. A GIANT ROCK OUTTA NOWHERE smashes a bridge in Moria. Guys, you need to prop your mining works up properly!

16. Some guy gets mobbed.

17. Galadriel screams.

18. An orc licks a knife, nowhere near either of the previous shots.

DARKNESS WILL BIND THEM.

19. The Three with their rings, and a shot of an autumn tree.

20. Durin the Elder holds a glowing ring.

21. Silvan Elf (the one with the mortal girlfriend and no hair) does some acrobatics and points an arrow.

22. Numenor! Still looking very pretty. And then a giant eagle lands on the balcony and drops off some scruffy guy.

23. Some kid smiles. Some guy looks up.

24. Balls of fire are shot at a city.

25. Orcs, I think? Maybe that's Adar (hey I remembered a name) at the front; he's looking rough.

26. The Istar tries to pull a Moses and hits the ground with his staff next to a... well? Bell?

27. Someone in a sandstorm.

28. Someone shoots a burning arrow.

29. BOOM everyone's on fire.

30. ??Elrond?? pulls a sword.

31. Cavalry!

32. Some guy dumps a handful of gold rings.

33. People with swords surround some guy with long hair. He smiles.

GALADRIEL: "He is Sauron." (So I guess he's Sauron?)

34. A hand twists in a magicky way.

35. A huge explosion of like... clouds and darkness around a Dark Tower, over which we get our final title card.

Yeah so that told me nothing except that the main villain is still in it, and there's probably going to be some Rings, maybe even Of Power.

Indeed. 'Tis a very accurate summary.
I very much doubt I shall find this next season at all improved from the first, if the trailer is anything to go by.

She didn't. She said something to the effect of Halbrand is gone. He won't return. If he does you are not to treat with him. Don't ask any more questions about it.
