Seeing STARZ!
Okay, bad, bad pun. I apologize for using the fact that "Starz!" is a station as an excuse to make a pun.
But this is movie-related. I noticed earlier this week that, if you turn on "Starz!" now while Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is playing, you will not, in fact, find the original version, but the Extended Version. I meant to point this out a few days ago on here, but never found the opportunity. So, for all of you that couldn't get the Extended Version for whatever reason (I've heard that a few of you are out there), now's your chance to see it if you get "Starz!".
*Bows and quietly exits, having said what she came to tell you*
Gweston meleth nín,
The Dragonfly

I noticed that too! I was quite excited as I have never seen the extended version before. I only caught from THe council of Elrond on though so I'm hoping they'll keep showing it.
Eressie, Vanima was just saying (thru her lovely pun ) that the movie cahnnel Starz is showing the extended version of FotR.

Starz is a television channel, specifically showing movies. On Starz you can now see FotR:Extended edition.
It's quite wonderful, except that I tend to throw it on whenever I'm not watching anything else. Which means I subconciously get LotR movie info in my head, which I tend to get confused with book stuff. Bleh.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I saw that Lord of the Rings was on so I flipped the channel to it (it was on starz) and it was the gift scene. I was confused for a second, I was thinking 'wait, isn't this in the extended version?' Then I checked how long it was supposed to be on, it was 3 and a half hours. I got all happy, Yay! The extended version's on TV!!!!! Which is good for all of you who don't have it on DVD or video. But yeah, I'm glad I wasn't the only one whose noticed it

Welcome to the Downs, Enorëiel! Enjoy being dead!
My brother and I were watching at night about a week ago, we didn't see much, as my parents returned from watching "CA: Full Throttle". But we saw from the scene on the hill where Frodo is stabbed by the Witch King (that was Amon Sul, right?), up to just after they passed between the Argonath (those are so cool) and both noticed that it was Extended. Very cool.

Yeah, I love to watch their commercials on our Dish network service. Though I must admit, I hate to see Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring clips and even just the title put on the same level with the likes of The Scorpion King, A Beautiful Mind, Austin Powers, or anything else! Ugh!
A person I met in a sword shop in Tennessee told me that he heard his cable provider was going to air the extended edition of TTT in advance, with the pay-per-view, but I think he must have gotten mixed up somewhere along the way...surely that's still in post-production. Howard Shore didn't write the EE music for FotR until just a few short months before its release!
