Hold it there, Morgul Queen. I think that you just asked for this thread to be closed by saying "lets forget about LotR". It's only a matter of time now...
Iarwain

I haven't seen his other films, but PJ is a good director. One thing I loved was his enthusiasm and dedication to Lotr. You could see he really loved it.

Yeah, the frightners was good, but it was a bit too `americanized' if you know what I mean. But there is definate PJ style in there
Has anyone else seen Meet the Feebles
Now there is one of the best films I have ever seen *evil, maniacal, blood dripping, vampire toothed grin*

Jackson's Braindead is a wonderfully graphic (albeit low budget) gore-fest. I would recommend it to anyone with a strong stomach.
Bad Taste must have been one of his first films. It was made on a shoestring budget and has a very "home-movie" feel to it. Jackson features in it (as he does in most of his films) and his character spends most of the film wandering around trying to stop his brains falling out of the back of his head. Again, one for the iron-stomached, but a bit too raw for my tastes.
I hadn't realised that Jackson made Meet the Feebles. As I recall, it is like the Muppets, but with very adult humour.
[ July 11, 2003: Message edited by: The Saucepan Man ]

I LOVE Bad Taste!Even though it's very low budget, it's still so funny and gorey PJ can make any film good, even if there isn't alot of money going into it!

I remember PJ and Crew didn't finish Meet the Feebles in time so they broke into the studio to finish it in the middle of the night
(repeats to self: Must see BrainDead, Must see Braindead, must see Return of the King....waitaminutehere?!!!)

I enjoy seeing the growth of this director. Heavenly Creatures is a brilliant film. I very much enjoyed Frighteners. I found it became a little dizzying at the end. He had a lot of balls in the air but he pulled it off for the most part. His sense of humour is definately up my ally, but I laugh at some pretty strange things.
I've yet to dig up Braindead or Bad Taste.
H.C.

I liked HEavenly Creatures very much, and everyone HAS to check out DEad Alive, the goriest movie ever made (and pretty funny too) I really want to see Bad Taste and Meet the Feebles since i hear they're pretty blasphemous.
