Sting LOTR.com fanclub?

Is anyone here a member of the fanclub? If so, is it worth paying $30 for a year of membership?

Well, for the money you get the fan club mag (which is nice) and you get discounts in the store... a chance to spend more money!!! Well, you also get your name at the end of the Extended Credits.
When evaluating it I found it not worth the money. You can be a true fan without joining the fan club.
Just my opinion.

I think perhaps the true fans are those who are not members. The fan club is mainly about money, which is not what Tolkien would have intended (in my opinion anyway)
