I'm not sure of the setting, but it sounds like Gandalf taking up a new resolve after becoming Gandalf the White.

To me it sounds like Merry Brandybuck waking up in the Houses of Healing, feeling hungry, but not wanting to smoke again from reget at the loss of his friend the King of Rohan, Theoden.

I believe that I am, galpsi, and that Boromir is just showing frustration that HE didn't ick up on the 'merrily' part. Only burrahobbit can save us now.

No apologies neccesary, burrahobbit. Here's a new quote.

I know it, I know it!
One of my absolute favourite scenes: Gandalf reports at the Council of Elrond how he came to Isengard. Saruman and Gandalf there talked about Saruman´s new many-coloured cloak, and Gandalf says he liked white better. Saruman replies that white light can be broken into many new colours, but Gandalf points out that in this case it is no longer white (i.e. pure), and he remarks that "he who breaks a thing to find out how it works inside has left the past of wisdom". This is your meddled quote. Didn´t look that up.

Here goes:

"These bits of the rise can have seated in the edge to damage and to examine or to say the joys of the vector of the small acts of its parents, grandparents and the parents and the degree of the cousins nineth they had separated one, if animates with disproportioned the patience."

( German -> French -> English -> Spanish -> English -> Portugese -> English. Silly babelfish with too few possibilities.)

Shouldn´t be toooo hard, but it´s funny what got translated to "pieces of luggage", later "bits of the rise"...

No. This may have been too obscure. As a hint, remember that your old friend galpsi is a terrible dwarf-enthusiast. That's why he's never been a big fan of the Silmarillion.
