Question Samwise - Year of Birth? SR 1380 or 1383?

Just answered quiz #53, Ages of Fellowship Members (by Lindolir). Looking in my one volume Unwin/Unicorn edition printed 1985, I found in Appendix B, the chronology, that Sam was born same year as Faramir - Third Age 2983, but according to Appendix C, the family trees, he was born Shire Reckoning 1380, which equals Third Age 2980. First of all, is my arithmetic correct? Or does my copy have a misprint? Which date is generally accepted as correct?

Question

That is odd, my copy is the same way. I would go by appendix b though, as it is the tale of years.
