Wargs v.s. Wolves
What is the difference between Wargs and Wolves? Or are they the same? Which one is stronger? Would win in a fight?
There, I think that are all of my questions on wolves and Wargs!

I am a wolf fanatic, and as far as I'm concerened, Wargs are Werewolf-like and wolves are more Wolf-dog across the street-like. But they're all kewl to me!

Wargs were probably larger because orcs would ride on them like horses, they might also have been trained, were as the ordinary wolf was wild

They were probably also a little smarter because Gandalf understood their language.

Wargs as evil/demonic is the key difference. They had evil fear (that's fay-ahr, elvish for 'spirit') dwelling in them. These fe-ar are what gave them their intelligence, and their increased size probably came along with the evil spirits, from Morgoth in the First Age.

Ya know, it always bugged me that there is no such thing as a good wolf in LotR. I realize that Tolkien wrote out of the Northern legends and myths, in which wolves were commonly regarded as enemies, but I still wish....
But I agree that Wargs were wolves - they were just evil wolves. lmp |

ok, i know this! Great Warg told me. The wolves have no side, they are just normal dumb creatures. The wargs are on the evil side, and they are a lot smarter. Clear?
