What happened to Tirion?
OK, in the beginning of the Silmarillion, many elves came to Tirion and they stayed there. When the Noldor left, I am pretty sure that some of them, as well as some Vanyar probably, still lived in Tirion. So why was it completely deserted when Earendil found it? Thoughts, anyone?

When Earendil found Tirion empty, it was because they were all attending a feast in the halls of Manwe at the foot of Taniquetil...
