Drunk Legolas?
A friend of mine sent me a link to a clip of Legolas and Gimli playing a drinking game. I believe this was part of the National Geographic Behind the Scenes program. Do you think that this scene will be included in the extended edition of ROTK, and will there perhaps be an uproar over a drunken elf? For those of you who have not yet seen the clip, here it is http://elflady.com/legolasgreenleaf/multimedia/drinking_game.wmv

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhh...

I was ready to go "Idiot PJ" when I read your post, but actually, Legolas' response seems very good. I love the way he's ther ein his shiny clothes just completely diusmissive or the entire thing as some kind of stupidity.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to hear anything. I have the volume on my speakers turned all the way up, and the sound is enabled on Windows Media Player, but I still can't hear anything.

Looks...interesting. Although it's hard to imagine an Elf drinking ale. Wine, yeah, but ale? Hmmm.

Looks cute. Obviously I'll have to wait to see the scene.
By the way, didn't the elves in The Hobbit get somewhat tipsy allowing Bilbo and the dwarves to escape from the Elf King, who afterall is Legolas' dad?
H.C.

Cute is the first word that comes to mind, for some reason. I like the looks of the scene! The concept of an elf participating in a drinking game is humorous on its own.
I'm guessing it will be in the EE. Let's only hope!

A drunk Elf I can see, an Elf getting drunk on ale is more difficult, but if scene is included, it wouldn't bother me any.

Hmmm... yes, it does take quite a bit to get an elf intoxicated, apparently. Perhaps they were playing...
The LOTR Movie Drinking Game !!
Argh, how I love shamelessly promoting my own threads!
On another note, yeah sure it will be funny to see them getting drunk, but there's about a hundred other things that the time could be better spent on. Apparently Éomer becomes king of somewhere, or something. Not that you'd know it from the movie.

Ahhh.... I really don't have an opinion. I just can't see Legolas doing something like that. Besides is this before or after he goes and stands outside and talks about Sauron? If it was before than it explains a lot and that he wasn't sensing stuff but acutally intoxicated.

Oh my goodness! That was hilarious! That reminds me of a character I had in a Lord of the Rings roleplaying game. He was an elf who always has drinking contests with Hobbits......and wins. ALWAYS.

i can see it but i cant HEAR it...(darn my mother's computer!) but i still think that would be a cute scene to have in the EE of ROTK...did anyone else think that when Legolas was taking the sip that his face looked like a kid who was taking their first swig? kinda cute, in a childish sort of way...or whatever...

Isn't the next scene Aragorn and Legolas - with his hood drawn - outside at night? Maybe Legolas has just finished wretching?
H.C.

Beer is waaay less alcoholic than wine, by the way, so I see no reason for beer to be less of an Elves drink.
And the guards weren't tipsy...they were unconcious!

Ah, hilarious...I'd already seen the screencaps and wondered where they were from.
Right, so if they put in the Houses of Healing and the Mouth of Sauron they can put that in. But I had thought that was something to do with remembering the dead. Which confused me somewhat, as they are all celebrating!

hehe! That was hilarious! Legolas's reaction was priceless! Especially when you see him start to drink the ale. It's kind of a hesitant unsure moment. I don't know if I'd really fit well in the movie but it was hilarious.

Haha, that was funny! Legolas looks so out of place and Gimli is clearly in his element, teasing him whilst drinking beer. I really liked that. I stil can't imagine an Elf prince drinking ale, but to his credit Legolas didn't really look as if he *wanted* to be drinking it. Heh heh... certainly won't complain if this is in the EE, even though I've already seen it...
