Never thought of him appearing as Forlong, that's interesting
My speculation is that he'll be a random hobbit in the Shire, after our four heroes return, but someone pointed out to me that this is only possible if he has brought himself to shave off that infamous beard
Of course, he might just decided to make himself a stoorish hobbit

Is this a rumor, is it a fact that PJ will make an appearance in ROTK.

quote:
Someone enlighten me since I have only read the books once. Who is Forlong the Fat again?

Forlong the Fat, the Lord of Lossarnach. One of the Good Professor's wonderful minor characters; he answers the call to arms and marches with some two hundred men to the muster of Gondor.
I don't recall that poor ol' Forlong even had a line of dialog in the book, but everybody was real sad when he got slaughtered at the battle of the Pelennor Fields.

In FotR, he was a scruffy-looking man eating a carrot in Bree; he looked at the camera and belched. Then in TTT, he was one of the Dunlendings, I think; the one that yelled "Murderers!" He was also at Helm's Deep; he opened a hatch and chucked a spear/rock (can't remember which) at the Uruks.

In FOTR he was a burping peasant eating a carrot in Bree. In TTT he was throwing a spear in the battle of Helm's Deep.

PJ could also have been Targon, the guy in charge of the buttery of the Third Company in Gondor, when Beregond and Pippin go to get their "second breakfast."
