Good for you NightKnight! Your turn!

NightKnight 01-12-2004 11:03 AM

Too bad, Elrond. Maybe you can take this one instead.

Hild and Aglahad.

Edit: Hey, I'm getting really good at winning by mere seconds. Sorry, but yeah!
... Next time, it will be yours.

NightKnight? If you're there...please post!

NightKnight 01-16-2004 03:12 PM

Sorry for the delay, but I haven't been able to access internet. Elrond, you are of course right! Please continue!

Elrond of Rivendell 01-16-2004 07:57 PM

Thanks NightKnight.
So let us try this now:

Beor the Old -> Minastan

Greetings,
EfR

The Perky Ent 01-16-2004 10:15 PM

Well, you could have shortened by using:
[...] Aranarth -s> Firiel -d> Ondoher -s> Calimehtar [...], but yours is of course correct as well. Your turn, The Perky Ent.

Greetings,
EfR

The Perky Ent 01-17-2004 09:40 AM

Prisca Baggins --> Meriadoc

Elrond of Rivendell 01-17-2004 10:47 AM

Prisca Baggins -d> Polo Baggins -s> Mimosa Bunce -m> Rosa Baggins -m> Adalgrim Took -f> Esmeralda Took -m> Meriadoc Brandybuck

The Perky Ent 01-17-2004 12:12 PM

yep! your turn!

Elrond of Rivendell 01-17-2004 12:37 PM

Thanks The Perky Ent.

Correct. The thread is yours.
EfR

The Perky Ent 01-18-2004 06:51 PM

Try this one:

Maeglin ---> Mathan

 THIS IS MY 101th POST! I'M A WIGHT NOW!!!

Elrond of Rivendell 01-19-2004 05:43 AM

Maeglin -s> Aredhel -d> Fingolfin -s> Finwe -f> Feanor -f> Maedhros -s> Nerdanel -d> Mathan

Finwe 01-19-2004 08:20 AM

FYI, the correct spelling is "Mahtan"

The Perky Ent 01-19-2004 09:22 AM

1) Thank you Deathless Sun for correcting me on that careless mistake.

2) Elrond, you're correct! After you...

(Is it just me, or is this game running aroung in circles?)

Elrond of Rivendell 01-19-2004 01:03 PM

Well The Perky Ent, seeing your new avatar, I would call this a déjà-vu.

Edit: d'oh, re-voilà the old avatar

So watch out for Agent Smith when you are answering this:

Minto Baggins -> Harding of the Hill

Elrond of Rivendell 01-23-2004 06:02 PM

D'oh ... you don't like my question. I will be really sad if nobody answers!

EfR

Finwe 01-23-2004 06:44 PM

The only Minto that I could find was Minto Burrows, but oh well.

Minto Burrows -s> Peony Baggins -d> Posco Baggins -s> Polo Baggins -b> Rosa Baggins -m> Adalgrim Took -f> Paladin Took -f> Peregrin Took -f> Faramir Took -f> ? Took -s> Goldilocks Gamgee -d> Samwise Gamgee -f> Frodo Gardner -f> Holfast Gardner -f> Harding of the Hill

Elrond of Rivendell 01-23-2004 07:10 PM

Well, this riddle was not really that great. I did not see that the name of Goldilock's son/daughter was nowhere mentioned. But of course you are perfectly right, mis à part the little flaw that -b> doesn't exist.
But I won't be mean, since Munto Baggins didn't even exist.
The next will be hopefully a better one.
The thread is yours, Finwe.

Greetings,
EfR

The Perky Ent 01-24-2004 10:28 AM

If I may ask, this game requires lots of research...unless you already memorized every single person ever mentioned! But I was wondering...where to y'all get your info from?

Finwe 01-24-2004 12:17 PM

One word, Perky Ent, "Google." You can find EVERYTHING using that.

Hmm... let's see...

I'm feeling lazy.

Ingwë --> Arwen

The Perky Ent 01-24-2004 12:27 PM

Ingwë -b> Indis -m> Finarfin -f> Galadriel -m> Celebrian -m> Arwen

PS. Google eh? I use Annals of Arda

Elrond of Rivendell 01-24-2004 12:31 PM

Don't you dispose of an edition of The Silmarillion and of LotR with appendices, The Perky Ent? There you would be able to find 95% of everything you need.
Disposing of Unfinished Tales with its genealogy of the Numenorean Kings gives you another 3%. The rest are tricky ones, but they surely can be found very quickly via Google.

Greetings,
EfR

The Perky Ent 01-24-2004 03:07 PM

Yeah, but the Silmarilion is a fairly large book. It would be hard to go over the whole thing when i could just check on a website. Plus, i have my own family tree i made for quick referance! you know, to fill out those
Quote:

...
By the way, FINWE, check this post!

The Perky Ent 01-24-2004 03:32 PM

Finwe?

Elrond of Rivendell 01-24-2004 03:59 PM

Actually I was speaking of an edition of the Silmarillion containing very nice Family Trees (House of Finwe, House of Olwe and Elwe, House of Beor and the House of Haleth). As I said before, with those informations, you can easily solve family tree riddles nearly totally.

EfR

Finwe 01-24-2004 06:57 PM

Right, Perky, your go.

The Perky Ent 01-24-2004 11:12 PM

Okie Dokie! Try this one:

Pelendur ---> Frumgar

HAVE FUN!

Finwe 01-25-2004 08:32 PM

Pelendur -f> Vorondil -f> Mardil -f> Eradan -f> Herion -f> Belegorn -f> Hurin I -f> Turin I -f> Hador -f> Barahir -f> Dior -f> Denethor I -f> Boromir -f> Cirion -f> Hallas -f> Hurin II -f> Belecthor I -f> Orodreth -f> Ecthelion I -f> Egalmoth -f> Beren -f> Beregond -f> Belecthor II -f> Thorondir -f> Turin II -f> Turgon -f> Ecthelion II -f> Denethor II -f> Faramir -f> ? -s> Eowyn -d> Theodwyn -d> Thengel -s> Fengel -s> Folcwine -s> Folca -s> Walda -s> Brytta -s> Frealaf -s> Hild -d> Gram -s> Deor -s> Goldwine -s> Freawine -s> Frea -s> Aldor -s> Brego -s> Eorl -s> Leod -s> ? -s> Fram -s> Frumgar

The Perky Ent 01-25-2004 10:07 PM

Well...you could've filled in the blanks by saying
Quote:

Faramir -f> Elboron -s> Eowyn
and
Quote:

Leod -s> Fram

Otherwise, it's right!

The Perky Ent 01-26-2004 08:16 PM

Finwë! it's you're turn!

Finwe 01-27-2004 10:59 AM

Ah, ok.

Ingil --> Elboron

The Perky Ent 01-28-2004 10:01 PM

Ingil -s> Ingwe -b> Indis -m> Finarfin -f> Galadriel -m> Celebrian -m> Arwen -d> Elrond -s> Elwing -d> Dior -s> Barahir -f> Rian -m> Denethor I -f> Boromir -f> Cirion -f> Hallas -f> Hurin II -f> Belecthor I -f> Morwen -(grandmother)> Egalmoth -f> Beren -f> Beregond -f> Belecthor II -f> Thorondir -f> Turin II -f> Turgonn -f> Ecthelion II -f> Denethor II -f> Faramir -f> Elboron

Finwe 01-29-2004 11:26 AM

Whoa... definitely off!

I'll help you along a bit though, you seem to have caught the wrong Dior.
